One Year Anniversary Celebration
Speaker 2Welcome to the Saints that Serve, podcast where, each week, your hosts dive into the crossroads of faith, culture and the unknown.
Speaker 1Christ is Lord and the kingdom is now. We are the Saints that Serve, the saints that serve. Hey Jers, how's it going? Hey John, how you doing Fantastic.
Speaker 2Oh, wow, oh, that's great because today's a special day. Why is it a special?
Speaker 1day, John, how you?
Speaker 2doing Fantastic, oh wow, oh. That's great because today's a special day.
Speaker 1Why is it a special day, John? Because today is episode 52 of the Saints that Serve podcast. Wait, what's the name of the podcast? The Saints that Serve podcast. Wow, isn't that great. Everybody, yeah, hey everybody. How are y'all doing?
Speaker 3Hey, we're good.
Speaker 4Doing well.
Speaker 3Wow.
Speaker 2Wait for everyone to die down. I want my voice to be heard.
Speaker 1Yeah, at the very last one, everybody. Yay, ashley, I'm here too, but yes, this is episode 52 of the Saints that Serve podcast.
Speaker 2Yeah, you know what that. That means that we've been doing this for one whole year, one whole year happy birthday has to say one okay, happy birthday no birthday is one word, one syllable or one word. Oh man she's out here making us all guess what we're supposed to say.
Speaker 1Are we doing words or syllables? Julie Words or syllables.
Speaker 3I don't understand.
Speaker 2Wrong. You did wrong, you're wrong, wrong, redo, redo, anyways, yeah, so episode 52, we decided to do something special. We're just going to do a square table. Yeah, because it's not around A square table with different guests coming together and just talking about this past year of the podcast. Yes, and maybe some other exciting things, and we'll give some colorful commentary from Raven. Yes, the elegant puppy, not the trash cat, correct, correct.
Speaker 1Correct. Are you okay over there, Janelle?
Speaker 3So I'm not a big fan of dogs but it's fine. But dogs can sense when someone doesn't like dogs and so they immediately like single out the person that doesn't like dogs. So this whole time Raven has been sniffing and like licking me and I am really ticklish and so I've been like trying to get as far away from her and so she just keeps on climbing like further onto my chair. And I'm like standing up in my chair, trying to like stay quiet but also not get sniffed.
Speaker 1So I actually brought her in here. I've trained her, so anytime I tell a joke, she comes and licks your toes, so you'll laugh at my joke. I love how Dylan's the only one who laughed at my joke and Raven is.
Speaker 3Sitting right at his feet so he might be licked soon.
Speaker 1Yeah, no, he already laughed, so he doesn't have to be licked. I took my shoes off. I found out she licks toes so I took my shoes off.
Speaker 2I found out she licks toes, so I took my shoes off.
Speaker 1He's like I'm perfect. Instead of me calling everybody out, let's introduce our guest.
Speaker 2Yeah, so we're doing it, we're going to do it alphabetically, well, but we're going to do it in a special way, oh, okay. So how we're going to do this is one person is going to Another person, ooh, and then it goes to that person, and then that person will introduce the next person. Right, but we're doing it alphabetically.
Speaker 1What Randomly alphabetically.
Speaker 2There's four J's at the table.
Speaker 5J-U, j-a.
Speaker 1No, our guests only introduce the guests because they know who we are.
Speaker 2Okay, you know what?
Speaker 3I'm done. Are we doing words or syllables.
Speaker 2You're okay. Pretend that you are introducing this person because of their massive mountain of accomplishments. So that's what you're doing You're going to introduce them, you're going to fluff it up a little bit and then you're going to introduce them and then, once you've done that, then they have to introduce somebody else and try and fluff it up, you ready.
Speaker 1Yeah, starting with this guy.
Speaker 5Who am I introducing? You pick, yeah, just random.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 5Okay, yeah, yeah, we're going to introduce this person. You're looking at someone who is New York Times bestselling author. We got transformed, the entire met gala. We have a person who has written both the playwrights and lead acting roles and three major motion pictures. Right, we've got someone, too, who's currently working on their um biography, um or autobiography, I forget which one means that you wrote it um, but they're working on it. They're definitely working on it.
Speaker 2And, uh, they've also got a stunning, the amazing pair of, uh, natural pearly whites and that's going to be a pair only two just two, just two yeah yeah, we got two teeth, but boy, are they white I really take good tear my two teeth I save them ones for thanks, thanksgiving, and one is for Christmas.
Speaker 5You lost me, I forgot who I was.
Speaker 1You lost it Two teeth, that's all their other teeth.
Speaker 3They only have two left.
Speaker 5It's also going to be my fiance. Her name's Julie Yay.
Speaker 3Look at those pony white.
Speaker 1Look at both of her teeth.
Speaker 3I have more than two teeth. Let the record show, and it's autobiography that I'm working on. Oh, I'm writing it.
Speaker 1Well, I guess it's your turn to introduce somebody then.
Speaker 3After that glowing review of an introduction, I would like to introduce.
Speaker 2Started high, dropped a little bit and came back.
Speaker 3The man, the myth, the almost legend.
Speaker 1John Legend.
Speaker 3No, not John Legend. I'm talking more legendary than John Legend. There might be a John in the name. I'm talking about the legend Johnny Two Shed Redacted last name.
Speaker 1Redacted last name.
Speaker 2All right. Well, we weren't going to introduce us because we're the host.
Speaker 1Yeah, we're the host, that's fine. Yeah, that's fine. Well, we'll introduce somebody else.
Speaker 3He said John Legend and then I was like, oh well, now I have to go with that, yay, john.
Speaker 2I love the two sheds in there. That's a classic to the past.
Speaker 3It's a classic.
Speaker 1It's because he owned two sheds in his life. That's it. He's never going to own any more. Yeah, I tore them both down.
Speaker 2Okay so the next person that we have on the panel today has worked very hard to get to where she is at Right.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2So she has swam across the ocean once the Atlantic, not the Pacific In order to escape communist tyrannical rule. She swam the ocean, come to america to build herself from nothing. Started in new york, started a international now company that exclusively diagnoses and solves the issues of uneven toes for people, and instead of doing in soles, she does sole-less shoes, meaning that it's just the top of the shoe, no bottom of the shoe, for people to really get back to nature.
Speaker 3Yeah, I'd wear those.
Speaker 2Yeah, so well off, well accomplished. Started from nothing, built herself up and she's now looking to, you know, find her next season of life. She says it's marriage, so we'll see what happens. We're talking about none other than Janelle.
Speaker 3Right, I'm a fiance Rose. The only part I paid attention to.
Speaker 2Also possibly We'll see what happens Is crazy. We'll see what Possibly Russian, we don't know. Duh, duh, okay.
Speaker 3Thank you. Thank you. Yes, my arms are really tired from swimming here.
Speaker 1What's your code word as a Russian spy?
Speaker 3Code word is my code word. How dare you?
Speaker 1Jackfruit.
Speaker 3Sun's getting real low, big guy.
Speaker 1Sun's getting real low Red door. Oh yeah, Red door.
Speaker 3I'm getting snitched again. Okay, I'm locking in. I'm not locking in, I'm running out. All right, let's get down to business. Who are talking?
Speaker 1here. Who we talking here, who's here?
Speaker 3I'm on so little sleep right now. Okay, who we're talking about here? World renowned, world famous rap star, never been heard before yet, but is coming up really, really soon, about to drop a mixtape. Just a roast on everybody dark roast, medium roast, light roast vanilla it maybe pump a hazelnut here or there pumpkin spice pumpkin spice season is coming up. You have no idea who just hit you. It's Dylan.
Speaker 1I love how you say never been heard when we've premiered one of his songs on the podcast.
Speaker 2Also. So what do we do now? Because now Ashley and Jer still has to be introduced and Dylan's already introduced somebody.
Speaker 1Introducing the most gorgeous woman in the room, blushing my beautiful bride Ashley.
Speaker 4There we go, there you go. I don't do any long swims, nothing crazy like that, I'm just here today.
Speaker 1What is this your dating profile? I don't swim. I like long walks in the park.
Speaker 4Everybody else was like. We're not authors swim the Atlantic Ocean or the Pacific, so I'm just here.
Speaker 1Ashley, who loves long walks in the park and picking daisies. Picking daisies and petting puppies it's Ashley.
Speaker 4Thank you.
Speaker 1Yeah, it's, jess, thank you.
Speaker 4And now for the last introduction, we have a southern gentleman.
Speaker 1Yeehaw.
Speaker 4A beard that has been complimented around the world. Parisians love it. To be honest, an avid player of all games, collector of all things that can be collected, a lover of dogs has had so many dogs. Every time I talked to him there's a new dog that was in his childhood that didn't know about the one. The only jairus, last name redacted.
Speaker 1Last name redacted jairus.
Speaker 3Last name redacted it's Are you thinking of adding another dog?
Speaker 1Yes, it's not going to happen, but I'm thinking about it.
Speaker 2I'm seeing what the 401k Against support and retirement.
Speaker 1Anyways, alright, cool, that was the longest introduction ever, but we did it, we made it. So Christ is Lord. Yeah, that was the longest introduction ever, but we did it, we made it, we did it. So Christ is Lord.
Speaker 4Good night everybody Birthday.
Speaker 2Happy episode 52.
Speaker 152, we are all one year old, everybody.
Speaker 2We are all yes.
Speaker 1Goo, goo ga ga. This podcast is brought to you by Gerber.
Speaker 2Oh, my goodness.
Speaker 3That's why Julie only has two front teeth. Yeah, she's a baby, she's coming in guys, like they're just coming in All adding up.
Speaker 2Hey, we didn't say front teeth, we just said two. Yeah, they're actually her two back molars.
Speaker 3Hey, those are the most important ones.
Speaker 1They're all both on one side, though, so they can't actually be useful. Okay, alright, so we're gonna start. Well, I was gonna say that, like all these beautiful people here join us today, have all been guests previously on the podcast. That's right Guests, guests, and now they're all guests at the same time.
Speaker 2Yeah, so Ashley the Magnificent has. Her debut was in episode 22 for Valentine's Day. Valentine's Day, which apparently was a lot of people's favorite episode. That's what I've heard.
Speaker 3It was my favorite episode, yeah.
Speaker 2And the reason was because Ashley was in favorite episode.
Speaker 1Yeah, and the reason was because ashley was in the episode she everybody said I love that john got sick for four weeks straight.
Speaker 2You know what I love? I love that season when john wasn't on the podcast. Uh, no, so yeah. So actually it was episode 22. Janelle debuted in episode five when we were doing we were talking about trick-or-treating Our first guest and she was our first guest. That's right. Julie was for episode. It was the Ministry month. It was ministry month. It was episode number four of ministry month. I wrote it down but it's not on here.
Speaker 1Funny enough, it was Janelle's 20, episode 20. Janelle was, that was your second episode, wasn't it?
Speaker 2Yeah no big deal, Low key bro. And then Dylan joined us for episode 10. Which was our second guest ever. Second guest ever for our episode about musical journeys.
Speaker 3He got a picture on Instagram before I did and he got to sign a wall. When I came, there wasn't even a wall to sign Okay humble brag.
Speaker 2Things were happening. I will say I think that my favorite game that we have played so far has been for Dylan's Creed or Christian. Yeah, Creed, Is it Creed or Christian?
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 3That one was really funny.
Speaker 1My second favorite one was the Mountain Dew. Does it do or don't? Oh yeah, it's so funny.
Speaker 2Our guest for that. He, like early in the episode, was like Baja Blast is a. He was talking about Baja Blast as a flavor.
Speaker 1Like referencing saying I know what Baja.
Speaker 2Blast is yeah. And then three questions later he's like Baja Bl, baja blast, is it a flavor or is it not? He's like no, it's not, it's not real. We're like wait a minute, what? So yeah, he, uh, he doesn't drink. So yeah, it worked out actually even drink the do do you even do?
Introducing Our Special Guests
Speaker 2or don't coke products. Uh, so that's when. So yeah, so that's when everybody came on as guests. So I want to go around just for a minute and talk about just mention your favorite episode and why it's your favorite episode and we'll, kind of, as a table, talk about the episode.
Speaker 1I love how everybody's look on their face is like I didn't know there was going to be a quiz.
Speaker 3No, I'm trying to remember what I said before.
Speaker 2What you said.
Speaker 3Well, because you texted me and asked me.
Speaker 2Yeah, you didn't text me until Thursday, I think.
Speaker 3Well, yeah. Your answer is I was like all my favorite episodes were the ones I was in.
Speaker 1Hey, John, what was your favorite episode?
Speaker 2Episode number one, because that was the first time everyone heard my voice. No, I'm just kidding. No, I honestly have been trying to think about it and I don't have a favorite right now. There's a lot of them that.
Speaker 5I like Trying to pick your favorite kid.
Speaker 2Well, for me personally, I mean that's easy, it's no, I'm just kidding.
Speaker 1It's Bigfoot, yeah, and Park Ranger and Dasher and Dasher they're all his favorite. I think my favorite is all of them too, because I edit them and I just get tired of them. Like I can't stand listening back to the show after the editing process is over. No, because I've already heard it so much repeated back at during the editing process and I think, dylan, you can relate to that, being a musician and creating that music yeah, the songs that people hear for the first time.
Speaker 1By me I've heard, uh, at least 100 times typically and it's like you're really proud of what you make and what you do, but you don't want to listen to it again.
Speaker 5Yeah, by the time they release, I'm like, yeah, I don't want to listen to this. And then I'll go through my catalog and I'll find songs that I've made. I'm like, yo, this is so good. And then and it's simply because I forgot about, you know, constantly listening to it for like three weeks straight.
Speaker 1Give it time, then you can listen to an episode Also something really weird is hearing your wife be randomly listening to the podcast. I got walked in and she was listening to something. I'm like what are you listening to? And I looked at her phone it was the podcast, but she was listening to it like five times speed because she was behind Two times speed, two times speed. And I'm still behind actually. She was listening to the DC episode.
Speaker 2Okay, I had some guy come up to me yesterday from church and he was like we were at an event. He's like how's the podcast going? I was like it's pretty good, man, we're actually coming up on one year, so we're going to be doing a special episode. He's like, yeah, I'm behind, I need to catch up. I was like, oh, wow, okay, what episode are you on? He's like I haven't listened to it yet.
Speaker 2I'm terribly behind I was like well, yeah, then you are behind. You haven't heard a single thing, but it was funny. Hey, it's the thought that counts. He was. He remembered that we did a podcast.
Speaker 3Yeah yeah, this is a message to that church guy. This is your first episode that you're listening to, isn't it?
Speaker 1No, it's going to be really funny when, like months in advance here we are talking about him, but it's been months past when this comes out, when he finally gets around to listening to all the episodes, we can refer to him as Karate Pirate.
Speaker 2Karate Pirate.
Speaker 3Because he does martial arts and he dresses like a pirate. What an aesthetic. Okay, any shade that I threw at that church guy, I take it back.
Speaker 1Because Church Pirate is awesome. Karate Pirate, sorry, karate Pirate Church.
Speaker 3Pirate Church.
Speaker 5Karate, pirate yeah, that sounds awful, whenever.
Speaker 2I come in, whenever I come in on a Sunday morning and he's a part of the security team. So whenever I come in and he's there doing the security detail, I'm like praise the Lord.
Speaker 3Praise the Lord.
Speaker 2Intimidation factors up by three points. Right now I'm just all alone, but yeah, so anyways yeah, when did this church get a pirate? Two years ago.
Speaker 1Two years ago, nice pirate. Two years ago. Two years again nice nice. All right, let's start episode.
Speaker 5Yeah, let's start. I was gonna say let's start with dylan, okay, yeah, yeah, I, I have like one and a half, I'm gonna do one. My daughter's favorite episode, and the one that I've listened to numerous times, is the bonus soundboard testing video or episode the soundboard celebration. Oh my goodness, the 30-something minute long one where it's a bunch of noises and giggling. My daughter has asked me to play that to her to go to sleep a couple times. And I'm trying to go to sleep and I'm hearing Yay, and she's just laughing hysterically.
Speaker 1Wow, yeah, wow, oh, wow, oh, my goodness oh mine was a more recent episode.
Speaker 5It's the one on the mormons. Oh, a little bit on the mormons, and it's because I've been in this phase of uh, my uh self-studying where I want to learn more about the uh a cult. You can say cult, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1Uh, christian spinoffs just say cult so you've been enjoying our little Christianity versus series that we've been doing.
Speaker 5I haven't been listening. Get out. I'm so sorry. I didn't want to tell a lie.
Speaker 2Was that the first one we did? No no because we did Scientology first.
Speaker 5Yeah, and I listen to Scientology and I listen to Mormons. I like the Scientology thing too.
Speaker 2The only one that he hasn't listened to is Jehovah's Witness, though that's the only other one.
Speaker 3Which I've listened to. Oh wait, no, I have so technically yeah we've done the JWs, mormons and Scientology.
Speaker 5No, I have, I have I promise.
Speaker 2Okay, alright, I mean, that's it. I mean it started with us doing Catholics versus Protestants, and then we're like you know what, let's, let's do stuff that's not Christian, and then Christian. And so those are the three we've done Scientology, mormonism. Jehovah's Witness.
Speaker 3Can you guys do an episode on Freemasons and Masonic temples?
Speaker 1Because I don't know what's up with that. I want to learn more about that, but only from the Saints that Serve podcast I only want the two guys in a basement telling me about. Freemasons. That's not a bad idea. Be on the lookout for Christianity versus the Freemasons, yeah.
Speaker 2We can get into that. I mean, it's really more. It's like secret societies, because there's the Freemasons and there's like three other ones that are active right now.
Speaker 3The guys in the Fezzes that ask for money.
Speaker 1Those are the Shriners. Oh, those are the Shriners.
Speaker 3Shriners yeah. Oh, my favorite episode.
Speaker 1Is the bonus Fix Us episode.
Speaker 3Yeah, I mean that one was really good.
Speaker 2Well, hold on, hold on. Sorry, sorry, I'm just letting you guys go, I apologize. So your favorite is the Mormon episode, okay, so let's just take a minute and everyone kind of, if you have anything to input on that episode.
Speaker 5Yeah, I do have something.
Speaker 2Okay, and then we'll go to your and focus on your episode that you like and we'll open up dialogue about it. That's kind of how we'll do.
Speaker 5We'll just go around that way well, it piqued my interest because in high school I went to a private christian school and what piqued my interest the most about it is guys would be talking about like girls, like yeah, man, she's cute, you know, but um, she's mormon. Oh, oh no. And one guy he was like yeah, dude's like yeah, she's, she's a catch, catch, she's good at this sport and good at that sport, she's pretty smart, but yeah, she's Mormon. So I wouldn't do that. I didn't know what that meant ever.
Speaker 1And you didn't know what that meant until you listened to our episode of the podcast.
Speaker 2Yeah, sort of that's funny.
Speaker 5That's why I liked it.
Speaker 3That's really funny, because my parents Were the same way About Calvinists. They're like he's nice, he's sweet, but he's a Calvinist, so you can't date him.
Speaker 2Yeah Well, you can't date anybody.
Speaker 3So Fair enough Touche.
Speaker 2Parents didn't allow us To date. When we were in school, we had to graduate.
Speaker 3Yeah, our dad's favorite Like diss date. When we were in school we had to graduate.
Speaker 2Yeah, our dad's favorite, diss is calling someone a Calvinist, he's probably a Calvinist.
Speaker 5That's right, I courted Julie.
Speaker 2Yeah, you courted. I mean, you didn't date, you courted her, golly.
Speaker 3He never told a lie.
Speaker 2Yeah, the Mormon, okay.
Speaker 2So this is what's crazy is in Mormonism, like all the crazy theology that everyone outside of Mormonism knows, I'm like, oh yeah, you don't want to be Mormon, you don't want to be Mormon.
Speaker 2The young people in Mormonism don't know that part of their religion All they know is salvation comes through Christ alone part. And so that's why it sounds so much like Christianity as a young Mormon. And it's when they go out and they start doing their missionary journey as a young adult that they start hearing about the second half of their religion. And it's from other people. And so they go out and they're trying to just, you know, evangelize and people will ask them questions about all this stuff and they're like, oh, I don't know, I don't know, oh, I don't know. And they'll go back and they'll talk to their the home that they're staying in, like the mentors that are overseeing them, and they'll kind of try to soften and massage out the indoctrination with them. But yeah, it's pretty crazy. I mean, they grow up in the church and they do all the rites and the passages to become a dedicated Mormon and they don't even know fully what they support and what they believe until their adult life. Someone was detected at your front door, alexa.
Speaker 3It's a Mormon.
Speaker 2How crazy would that be.
Speaker 3My name is Elder Price.
Speaker 1My name is Josh.
Speaker 3Gad. Yeah, can I tell a story about Mormons?
Speaker 1No only about the episode.
Speaker 3Oh. So if I were on the episode, I would have told this story.
Speaker 1This is a what if episode for Janelle.
Speaker 3So I was in Chattanooga doing a photo shoot with Kaylee Shout out to Kaylee and we were walking in this park in Chattanooga and there was these two guys like kind of sitting off to the side, dressed well. So I immediately assumed, oh, they're probably Mormon Because they just had, you know, the missionary, they must be Mormons?
Speaker 5Yeah, I guess I'm Mormon.
Speaker 3Most guys don't have, just like white button up shirts and black pants and a name tag, so anyway, Actually, I have a couple in my closet.
Speaker 2They're either on the fast track from management at Chick-fil-A, or they're a Mormon elder, or they're both a Chick-fil-A or they're a Mormon elder.
Speaker 3Or they're both so anyway, it just it kind of tickled me a little bit, because we're walking past them. They don't get up, they don't like run at us, which I'm glad that would have been terrifying.
Speaker 1What if they just jumped up and took right off at you Like?
Speaker 3screaming at you.
Speaker 2Tom Cruise sprinted at you.
Speaker 3We kind of like make eye contact with them and then they were like hey or not, they didn't say it like that, but they were like hey, hey, girl hi.
Speaker 1And we were like oh, hey girl, why don't you come over here and talk to me for a minute? Hi, hey girl, you ever heard of Jesus Christ?
Speaker 3We kept walking and then we're like so far away from them, we haven't. They haven't like tried to have a conversation with us, they haven't even like gotten no lead in. They just said you guys want to go to church? Like from so far away and we're already walking, like I barely heard him. But I looked at Kaylee and went did you hear something? We kept walking and I was like, yeah, pretty strong lead-in, no lead-in, actually, just straight to like I am like I've never heard of that method before and probably because it doesn't work, I already go to church. I'm okay. Thanks, do you want to go to church?
Speaker 1Maybe he was trying to find a new church.
Speaker 3Right.
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah, maybe. Hey, you guys want to go to church?
Speaker 1I'm looking right now, do you recommend any churches? Yeah, yeah, because that's a yeah, notch your.
Speaker 5Mormon one. I did own a book of Mormon for like two weeks. Who wrote it?
Speaker 3I don't know, joseph Fais Smith or something.
Speaker 5Yeah, I've ran into these girls. I don't know how Did you say Justin Hayes?
Speaker 1Smith.
Speaker 3I said Joseph Smith.
Speaker 1Oh, dum-da-dum-dum-dum-dum, I just got a fresh haircut.
Speaker 5They went to a donut shop and they were in there and they't really know what they're talking about right now. I was with them and then I wasn't with them and then I saw how weird they were dressed. I saw the skirts and the collars and the name tags and their names in general were pretty Mormon, and so I kind of picked up something was awkward.
Speaker 2What is a pretty Mormon name?
Speaker 3I'm going to look it up.
Speaker 5Like Isabel. I feel like Emma is a Mormon name. Nah, like three syllables in the name Isabel. Yeah, hit that one.
Speaker 1Yeah, go hit Isabel, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah.
Speaker 2Punch her in the face and tell her Jesus loves her.
Speaker 5Saints that serve, do not support. No, we don't, we don't.
Speaker 1Not at all. So what you're saying is that you they gave you a book of mormon. Yeah, then two weeks later, you listened to the mormon episode from the saints that serve realize what it is, and then you put it in the trash. Is that what you said?
Speaker 5there was a time frame that I don't recall, but I do know the book never left my car and sat in my passenger seat and I just stared at. I cracked it open a couple times.
Speaker 2So were they like?
Speaker 5they gave it to you to say hey, you should read this yeah, like yeah, for about 15 minutes, and I'll let it go because I like talking to people and uh, then I just I kind of like not listening.
Speaker 4Yeah, no, not at all.
Speaker 5No, I don't remember much of what they'd said, I just uh, especially once I realized like we don't believe the same thing. Yeah, I hit me. Oh, we're having two different conversations, true, and I didn't know what clicked, but when it clicked, it clicked and I was like, eh, my child's here I don't need to be having, I don't need to condemn her to hell. Yeah, and I was polite after that and they gave me their card and said, anytime they want to have a Bible, study that card and said anytime they want to have a bible study that they were willing to come over and do all this stuff and I was like, yeah, I'm good, I'm good.
Speaker 2I think it was like a flirt to convert type strat flirt to convert. Yeah, well, no, I mean it's possible, but the that is a part of their, their strategy no, they were very flirtatious is okay, but I'm saying that's not a part of their strategy. Oh, oh oh.
Speaker 3That's part of some of their strategy.
Speaker 2You come across a handsome young man, flirt with him and he will follow the church. No, the idea is that if they can get you to talk to them and it's a cordial conversation it's next steps. So that's when they pitch out the like hey, here's contact info. Hey, if you want to do what they call Bible study, it's just another meeting, you know, and they bring different points to talk about, or they invite you to the church, you know, to come do service with them. Whatever that's the idea is, it's you're trying to lure the people in by one step closer, one step closer, one step closer. Because the one thing that Mormons do really well is community, and so if they can get people to see like, hey, we've got great community, then that entices people like I want something, I want to belong to something like this, right.
Speaker 2So, yeah, it's like they were probably flirting with you because you are a handsome young man. Thanks, but the Bible study thing is a pitch Like they're trying to get. Yeah, I was aware.
Speaker 5Yeah, I'm not trying to turn this episode into a Mormon episode part two my bad guys.
Speaker 1No. I could talk about all of them. So I've just been sent this. It says there are no official Mormon names, but common naming trends include biblical names John, mary Joseph. Book of Mormon figures, nephi Amah Moroni.
Speaker 3What are those? What did they say? I don't know. I just looked up top 50 Mormon names. These ones are better Brigham, heber, hiram, names of general popularity found in the region and culture, such as Ashton, dolan, eliza and Hannah.
Speaker 1There you go. So if you run into anybody with those names, run Dang.
Speaker 3That would be really unfortunate to be named Moroni Moroni. That's like just bullying waiting to happen.
Speaker 2It's not Morani. It can't be pronounced that way. It's got to be pronounced some way Morani.
Speaker 4I think it's Morani from that episode. Right, that's the angel that talked to Joseph, oh Right.
Speaker 1Thank you. Okay, I was like Morani. I don't know. Yeah, I think you're right.
Speaker 3This is perfect segue to my favorite episode. There you go.
Speaker 1Well, hold on, though, before you do. We haven't heard from Ashley or Janelle's comments on the Mormons.
Speaker 2Julie's like just let me talk about it.
Speaker 4I think we just gave the list of names and the pronunciation of Moroni. There you go, boom.
Speaker 1That's fine, cool Yep. There you go, all right.
Speaker 3Ashley's excellent insight into the podcast was my segue, because her first episode was my favorite episode.
Speaker 1Wow.
Speaker 3What about her?
Speaker 1second episode.
Speaker 3That one was good too.
Speaker 1What was that one?
Speaker 3It was. It was y'all were talking about the Sims, or was that the first episode?
Speaker 1That was the Valentine's Day episode.
Speaker 4It was the one where we did the movie.
Speaker 3The TV show like what you're watching.
Speaker 4We did the movie.
Speaker 1So her first episode was the Valentine's Day episode, where we talked about the Sims House. And there was a third thing we talked. Do you remember?
Speaker 5No.
Speaker 1No, but then we had her on a second episode where we did the summer movie draft.
Speaker 2Which is it's not an episode.
Speaker 1It's a bonus episode it was a bonus episode.
Speaker 3Yeah, the Twilight Debate bonus episode was also one of my favorites. I want to talk about that it was very heated At some point.
Speaker 1Very heated, because that is actually my favorite. It was excellently executed. Talk about that very heated at some point.
Speaker 3very heated, because that is actually my favorite it was excellently executed all right so ashley was always the top commenter on like every episode, and so I'm like when is she gonna have her episode? Like she needs her moment in the sun, and then she had it and it just felt like poetic justice that.
Speaker 1That's when Ashley poisoned John and he was sick for four weeks so that she could be on the show.
Speaker 2Yeah, that was. I think it worked out great. I think it was God's providence because it was a really it lined up perfectly Valentine's Day episode of a married couple talking about, you know, their favorite things together as a married couple.
Speaker 3Like it worked out. Good it was super cute.
Speaker 2It was better than what two bearded men would talk about would talk about.
Speaker 1Here's the history of valentine's day, brought to you by two grown men yeah, so yeah, it was good.
Speaker 2Uh, so what? What were some of the things from the episode that you liked?
Speaker 3yeah, I kind of what you said. It was just it was really sweet that it was a married couple and it was Valentine's and they were just talking about things that they love and supporting each other in those things and celebrating each other. It was really sweet.
Speaker 1FYI, we're still married. You said was a married couple LOL.
Speaker 3So on this episode, we're announcing a big change. Whoa, wasn't it your first Valentine's as a married couple? Yes, it was. Yeah, it was super sweet.
Speaker 1A little peek behind the curtain. We recorded that like two weeks before Valentine's Day, so we didn't actually spend Valentine's Day recording and putting out that episode.
Speaker 3I think a podcast date sounds like a great date idea.
Speaker 5You want to tell them what I said about Valentine's Day.
Speaker 3On Valentine's Day you go, my love.
Speaker 5You go ahead and do it, you capture it better. Weren't we just saying about recording our no, how I felt about Valentine's Day and I was saying it pretty much around Valentine's Day.
Speaker 3Oh, it's a pagan holiday and he hates it and everything. It's just an excuse to sell greeting cards.
Speaker 1Gee holiday and he hates it and everything. It's just an excuse to sell us greeting cards. You want to get on that, dylan like yeah, I geez, yeah, I really want to talk about this right now.
Speaker 5So what I hear is you hate your fiancee no, what I'm saying is when we get married, we're not celebrating anything it's just like one of those holidays where it's been pushed like, oh, this is where you tell someone you love them and I'm like, no, we can, we can do this year. Pushed Like, oh, this is where you tell someone you love them and I'm like, no, we can do this year round, we can make this happen year round. I'm not gonna buy your heart-shaped what is it, nugget tray, to show that I love somebody? You hear that, julie, please buy me a heart-shaped nugget tray, Julie.
Speaker 1so what I'm hearing is that he has to do special things for you every single day, not just Valentine's Day.
Speaker 3Oh yeah.
Speaker 2So like, but what about St Valentine?
Speaker 5So ignorance was there. I don't know much about St Valentine. I didn't until Julie you know she explained who he was and what he did. And if you ask me now what she'd said, I don't until Julie you know she explained who he was and what he did. And if you ask me now what she'd said, I don't remember. It was kind of a one and done information type thing and I'm sorry but I don't really know too much on him. But all I do know is I would see Cupid and I know about that little, that devilish little baby butt same person.
Speaker 1St Valentine's is Cupid.
Speaker 5No don't you even get it.
Speaker 3He's a nephilim who cupid do you guys watch the saint valentine's video? I don't know what that means in the movie well like mom, so we were all homeschooled, and mom, every holiday, would like make it educational, and so we would watch this video every valentine's day about like saint valentine, and it was basically just like christians getting martyred oh my god, I went to public school in my early days, so saint valentine's day didn't mean anything.
Speaker 5I didn't know st stood for saint. Uh, to me it was a street, so street just been like street valentine's day the streets that serve. Hit a twin.
Speaker 2If you can guarantee anything is Western consumerism. Will take any holiday and make it about consumerism. Yeah.
Speaker 3That's why we're celebrating this birthday of the saints that serve.
Speaker 2With our very own decorations.
Speaker 1We do. We have happy birthday napkins.
Speaker 3Anyone wants to bid on this sparkly fork that I have been holding this whole episode?
Speaker 1It will go to the saints that serve fun.
Speaker 3Exactly yeah.
Speaker 2No, but I mean that's the thing, st Valentine. His ministry was to persecuted Christians in the third century. Ministry was to persecuted Christians in the third century. So like the commemoration for Valentine's in the Orthodox is July 6th and for the Catholics it's the February 14th, Right 14th, they just commemorate because he ends up getting martyred as well. So they commemorate his ministry to the persecuted church on those days.
Speaker 3But that was his big thing, just oh love ireland right um saint patrick, oh my saint patrick and rats that's street patrick, ireland street patrick, ireland didn't exist you know about street patrick yeah, I'll take a time out from speaking no, you're good.
Speaker 1No, please, it makes the episode better if you talk.
Speaker 2Okay, all right what do you have. Do you have any colorful commentary to talk about the Valentine's Day episode?
Speaker 3I mean, I just feel like I've heard Jairus nerding out about video games my whole life, so it was nice that he has someone to nerd out about video games with.
Speaker 1It's so nice that I don't have to hear it and somebody else has to put up with it.
Speaker 2I'm so glad that he doesn't hold me on the phone for 45 minutes to talk about Kingdom Hearts.
Speaker 1Here's the problem my wife won't play Kingdom Hearts with me.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1I'll just open it. I started playing the first game we got 20 minutes into it and you said I'm going to go play the Sims.
Speaker 4No, it was an hour and a half we played an hour and a half.
Speaker 1I'm kidding. I'm kidding. We sat down and played it once and she never said let's play it again. I don't like when mom and dad fight.
Speaker 4Listen. I told him. I was like you know what I want to watch? You play it, because he always talks about how much he loves it and me struggling learning how to play the game while he watches.
Speaker 1I'm like I don't know. You have to hit the trees to get the coconuts. You have to do that to progress. Okay, I feel that because Just hit the tree to get the coconut.
Speaker 3I had to drive Dylan's car with Dylan in the passenger seat and it was the most anxious I've ever felt. So I feel where Ashley's coming from.
Speaker 4Yeah, and I did suggest that we play it together, like I play for a little bit, he plays for a little bit, like on and off, I don't know, I just don't want to. Yeah, like I'm going through a test, like I'm playing the game and you're watching me play.
Speaker 1I'm just going to take Raven.
Speaker 2Godspeed, you'll play while she Jumps up and assaults your fingers. The dog right, not Ashley the dog, that would be weird. She just comes in and breaks a fem pinky.
Speaker 1With her mouth she bites off her pinky. She's like breaking them hearts now no Try to hit that tree.
Speaker 2Try to hit the tree with the coconut now ashley, can you think back to when you were doing that and like what was like going through the process of recording and like knowing that this is going to be posted online, like what was going through your head, like you're like, um, were you like super critical of yourself the entire time or was it just a easy, casual conversation?
Speaker 4that's interesting. I did do a little bit of prep. I remember I I honestly didn't really listen to the episode, but I do remember I was talking about house and just other things. So I think I did some prep work. And then I remember that me and jairus, when we were sitting there we're sitting at the table like we are today at our house, and uh, jairus was talking about um, no, no, he started talking to me. I was like, are we recording? Like, and he's like, no, I'm just warming up. And I was like what?
Favorite Episodes and Memories
Speaker 1okay so. So when we record the podcast, I think that we end up, I just click record and we start talking until John finally said all right, we ready to start this or what. And I always use that in what some way in the episode, typically like the end credits, you know. I don't know if, if anybody is listening, and you stop listening to the podcast when, when the credits roll or the music plays, the outro music, the outro music plays, and if you wait about 10 seconds at the end of almost every single episode there's some funny bit. So I typically try to pull from the before and after recordings so I always just click go and just start talking, because we typically will say something funny.
Speaker 4Yeah, but to me I'm like, okay, I'm prepared. I'm like when are we going to talk on the main topic? And he's like, oh, I'm not even recording right now. Then I think we prayed or something like that. So I think my nerves were like shot a little bit and then I was like I don't know.
Speaker 1Yeah, she said is this the podcast?
Speaker 4I'm confused. I'm like you're just saying random things. I'm like what does that have to do with the topic at hand? You know that's my favorite episode too. I actually went back to look at my comments like a minute ago and I put down underneath the episode this is my favorite episode.
Speaker 2There you go.
Speaker 4There you go, you know.
Speaker 2And that is what she said when I asked what's your favorite episode. She's like Valentine's Day. So there you go, and it's because she recorded it with you, yeah, it's special.
Speaker 4Oh, yeah, and you know it's always out there. You know it's nice.
Speaker 2It's memorable. Your kids are going to be able to go back and listen to it.
Speaker 1Yeah, my favorite episode is that.
Speaker 2But here's the deal, okay. So, side note, I pulled up our old YouTube channel yesterday and the boys rewatched all the videos. So regal shenanigans. Regal shenanigans and season two, episode two, the intruder one. Oh two, episode two, the intruder one. Oh yeah, yeah, they watched that one and they were quoting it today on the way to church. So park ranger turned around to bigfoot and said that was embarrassing here, use my gun. The bigfoot was like shut up. Jerryson the gun, noise Biker and Drew Ow Ow.
Speaker 1That's a fun fact. Me and Ashley haven't actually really sat down and watched Regal Shenanigans together yet, being married, we've watched some of them.
Speaker 4No, when we were dating we didn't like, so we watched like 30 of the videos on YouTube.
Speaker 1There's a hundred.
Speaker 5It was never ending. I was like Never ending.
Speaker 4Because this was early. On YouTube there's a hundred. It's like never ending. I was like when did this stop? It never ended. This was early on too.
Speaker 1I gotta say something funny about this. Okay, so we skipped over my least favorite video. I did not make her watch that because it's so bad. Which is Creepily Kind, chris.
Speaker 3Creepily Kind, chris.
Speaker 1You mean, that's best Wasn't that nice to me, hold on. So she still hasn't seen it, and so, but whenever we skipped over it, like maybe a couple of weeks later, she's like why did we not watch that? Was it racist or something?
Speaker 4I was like yeah, I was like.
Speaker 1I was like I thought you know people's past were like oh man, that was a dark time. You know I wasn't, you know I don't know you know.
Speaker 3I was like why would he not show it to me? I'm not. She's like is that racist or something? I am saying there's an injustice there, that it's your least favorite video, because you guys came to pick me up one time when I was sick I was literally had a fever, I was dying and you were like, oh, we're like on the way home. You're like, oh, yeah, by the way, we got to stop and like film, film, some clips.
Speaker 1And I remember just like coughing and just like dying. You're in the backseat dying and we're sitting there like me running down the street acting like an idiot. You're like can I just?
Speaker 4go home please.
Speaker 3Please take me home.
Speaker 2Yeah, that was funny. Oh, man, that's good. Okay, well, do you have anything that you want to add about the Valentine's Day episode? I love you, ashley.
Speaker 3I love you too. Enough about that. Now it's time for my favorite episode.
Speaker 1Go ahead.
Speaker 3Other than all the ones I'm in. I'm joking. Okay, so you are the one guest who's been on the show the most.
Speaker 1Frequent flyer, which is funny.
Speaker 3Frequent flyer.
Speaker 1Frequent flyer and it's because you always like purposefully. Whenever we were making Regal Shenanigans, you always wanted to be in those as well. Yeah. So, I imagine just like whenever you need me, I'm available. I will make it happen.
Speaker 3And here I am, I will clear my schedule.
Speaker 3Yeah, when I will make it happen and here I will clear my schedule. Yeah, when I was a kid I would like try to play in the background, so like you can see me in the background of a lot of videos, because I would just like try to sneak into the videos. There's one, the homeschool video. I'm in that one, the regal shenanigans homeschool video. I'm in it so much because I just like would, had I had this like lego house I was building and I would just bring the lego house like to wherever you guys were filming in the house and would just try to be like in the background do you remember how many takes it took for you the actual shot we wanted you to be in?
Speaker 1oh, you remember I got hit where you got hit in the head. Do you remember how many times we tried that before we finally got the right shot?
Speaker 2No, but I had a red mark on my forehead, so there's a shot, probably the concussion that made me forget how many times we're throwing a ball and hitting her in the head and that's the shot. It's just throwing a ball.
Speaker 1Well, it's supposed to be the different stages. You laid down a pillow for me to fall on. Yeah, it's supposed to be like the different stages of, like, your day as a homeschooler and it was supposed to be uh, pe or sports class and it's just john throwing this like ball at janelle and nailing her right in the head, but in the shot it's perfect, hits her square in the forehead. Ah, she falls. I think it took like 15 takes of you getting hit in the head before we got the shot.
Speaker 115 takes buddy yeah no, we actually got it on the first one and we just wanted to hit you in the head 15 times that was let's see how many more times we can do it until janelle cries stand up.
Speaker 5One more, one more, one more shot.
Speaker 1The shot where she cries is the one we want.
Speaker 2Well, but it was in all seriousness, though. It was like it was either it would hit her in the wrong part of the head or the way that she fell was wrong, like it was not convincing the way, so it was my smiling.
Speaker 3I remember there was a few times she was smiling like you. Have to act like you don't like this bullied yeah I feel like you don't like this. You guys are filming me. I'm getting hit.
Speaker 2Yeah, so, but anyways, we did it, we made it, and you know what?
Speaker 3We made it. I'm still here.
Speaker 2We're still making videos. The video only has like 400 views on it, so it's tremendously less than that.
Speaker 1Oh yeah, maybe like 200.
Speaker 3I don't know, it's still tremendously over, it's what I love how this is turning into a Regal Shenanigans deep dive. Would you guys make an episode?
Speaker 1about Regal Shenanigans. Okay, yeah, we're going to move past Regal Shenanigans and we can make an episode about Regal Shenanigans.
Speaker 3So the saints that serve, saints that serves. I think we need an episode on that, the big debate, instead of like Christianity versus Mormonism.
Speaker 1Is it saints?
Speaker 3that serve versus saints that serves it's saints that serve. There's no debate it's saints that serve the email, that the email said the saints that serves we corrected that.
Speaker 1We fixed it.
Speaker 2We fixed it we even said in the episode that I know it was a mistake that I made, so take that I really enjoyed the January mission month.
Speaker 3Ministry missions month Ministry missions month 243 views.
Speaker 2Really Take that, Jairus Wow.
Speaker 1Sorry, go ahead. Compared to Shaka Khan, how much does that have? Oh, Chaka Khan is 1,400.
Speaker 214,000. Whatever, chaka Khan. Okay, let's get back to the nitty gritty.
Speaker 3Let's get back into the nitty gritty.
Speaker 2All right, so your favorite episode is what?
Speaker 3I like Johnny's testimony episode of the mission ministry mission month. I remember when I was listening to it I was driving somewhere. I think I was driving home from work or something and I don't know. It was just cool because I remember when Johnny was in YWAM I was a kid so I like kind of remembered like oh yeah, he was at home and then he left for a while and then he came back and he had long hair and he was really really nice to me.
Speaker 1So that brother that hit me in the head with a ball no longer hit me in the head with a ball.
Speaker 3No, but it was just cool because I have memories from being a kid and being on with you, like around holidays or whenever you were in Hawaii, and so it was just cool to listen through the episode and like hear your perspective of it, because it was very much like not one that I had, and also like you're the reason why I did YWAM specifically in Hawaii.
Speaker 4To hear.
Speaker 3Even though I was on a different base. It was like I remember, when you were our youth pastor, we went to Florida. I was like 13 and it was then I decided I'm going to go do YWAM in Hawaii because Johnny did, and it was on that trip and I think it was just because, like we were all hanging out, we were. You taught me how to play beach volleyball, like, and I was just like, okay, yeah, I'm going to do this. And then, like what? Five years later I ended up going to Hawaii to do my DTS, although I was on a different Island.
Speaker 2But like there wasn't like a catalyst, it was just we were hanging out and you were just like. You know what I am going to do. Ywam in Hawaii.
Speaker 1You know what I'm going to copy my brother.
Speaker 3Because I knew that I was going to do YWAM, because that was just kind of like our family thing. But it was like, oh, where are you going to do it? Or like you know which base, because everyone went to a different base and so I don't know. I was just like man we're playing like beach soccer, we're playing volleyball, we're walking on like singing leading worship on the beach and for some reason that just made me think of like oh yeah, johnny used to do this all the time in Hawaii.
Speaker 2Well, I don't know, okay, yeah.
Speaker 3I don't know, I can't explain 13 year old Janelle's reasoning, but yeah, I just remember like making that decision.
Speaker 1Wow, I really want to go to Hawaii learn about Jesus and play beach volleyball all day and when I went to Hawaii, I did not play a single round of beach volleyball.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 3But can I jump in and say the real reason was 13-year-old Janelle admired Johnny so much, she just wanted to be like him.
Speaker 1Yeah, it's true, that's so sweet, the littlest pet shop videos.
Speaker 3Oh my gosh. We'll save it for the Regal Shenanigans deep dive.
Speaker 2Yeah, I will say we jest about playing beach volleyball every day. But my school specifically, there was a volleyball net like right outside the lecture hall, so it wasn't beach volleyball, but every time there was like a 10 minute break for everyone to go to the bathroom. Just like a handful of guys, we'd all run out and just start playing volleyball and then they're like, okay, it's time to go. So we'd all run back in and then two hours later it'd be another break and we'd all run out and play volleyball. So we played volleyball.
Speaker 4What was the?
Speaker 2score Every break, every moment, where we didn't have to be doing anything and we were there like by the volleyball net, we would jump and go play volleyball. That's awesome. So we played it a lot and and everyone on the base that was like long-term staff. They're like your school plays a lot of volleyball, like oh, this is not what everybody does. And like, no, that net's been up for years. You're the first to touch it in 15 years. But yeah, side note, that was pretty funny. Anyways, okay, so we'll open up. We'll, I mean, talk about all four Mission Ministry Month episodes. If anyone just has any comments or anything that they want to talk about with those, now's the time sam and tyler's transition.
Speaker 1tyler's episode was probably one of the hardest episodes for me to edit, just because the audio was, just because we were remote on that. They were in california, yeah, and just like there was a terrible delay and that that episode and Taylor's episode, where he came on, were the two hardest for me Taylor's because it was so long, and then that one just because of the just absolute terrible delay and just constantly, like every single word being said had to be like okay, let me see if this timing sounds right, and it was just like constantly just adjusting, yeah, all the smallest little details, just so it sounded like it was flowing like a real conversation yeah, you did a great job because it did sound like a very fluid conversation and I really enjoyed them, like being on the podcast, even though they're on the other side of you, know no yeah, it sounded great.
Speaker 3It sounded amazing. They had a lot of cool stuff to share and shout out to them.
Speaker 2Yeah, they're actually. They like pressed in deeper. So God's been moving in their family to like press really hard into California community. So they've plugged in in Santa Cruz and are like going hard after doing local young adult ministry and they're working at a christian school in that area and and there's a couple other things that they're doing. But like they, yeah, god god gave them a heart for the community that they were in doing ywam work with and and they're like we got to go harder. So that's what they're doing. It's really awesome. Yeah.
Speaker 1So what you're saying is they're so busy we don't have time to have them back on, or missions ministry month part two Possibly.
Speaker 2Yeah, because Tyler transition. Tyler is a Christian school math teacher now full time, is a Christian school math teacher now full time. And then Sam, she is like going back into school for seminary. So Janelle, no not Janelle. Julie can chime in on that. Like there's not a lot of free time.
Speaker 5I liked that series because, a Julie was in that series and B I had my adult life hadn't been spent in the faith. You know, I was I'm 25. Now I was saved. I'm 22, uh, 23, uh, yeah, 22, and I didn't. I didn't grow up here. I didn't even know what YWAM was before I met you guys.
Speaker 5I didn't, even, I just had no concept for that type of thing, even even though I went to a private Christian schoolWAM was before I met you guys. I didn't even, I just had no concept for that type of thing, even though I went to a private Christian school, like it was more of a thing, that an opportunity my mom had as a teacher there and I as a kid didn't appreciate it. And to tell you the truth, after a lot of stories I've told Julie about things that I got into and experienced. You would have thought I just went to a small public school, but I experience. You would have thought I just went to a small public school but I liked it because it gave me like a perspective I didn't really have as far as like life goals for my children and what I want to be able to provide for them, because when I look at like people that are younger than me and I'm still young. But when I look at people younger than me and the opportunities that are there for a slightly younger generation that I just I want to be able to provide for my family because I didn't have the heart at my age, then you know, to experience those things.
Speaker 5I really liked that series because it helped me. It helped me see a perspective that I didn't necessarily have. There's been a lot of things involved. Hey bro, just rip it. We'll just rip it.
Speaker 5ASMR but there's been a huge perspective shift in just knowing you guys and aspirations that I want to see my personal in-house family achieve.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 5And episodes like a series like that are awesome. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1So what I'm hearing is we are doing part two now officially, yeah, and you guys are doing ministry by. We are doing part two now officially.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 5And you guys are doing ministry, by the way, in that regard. Think about that. I mean, I'm a believer, but the stuff that the generational, you know impact of having a series like that and the way it moved my heart is like it's given me something to move towards. So that's just affirmation for you guys Appreciate that.
Speaker 3Yeah, I love that we even though it wasn't specifically like YWAM month, you know, it was just like we've a lot of our family has done YWAM, so we know YWAMers and so that was just kind of like the ministry that we were able to share on, but it's such a blessing that, um, or just YWAM as an organization, has been such a blessing in our family as well as now. I have seen so many other people come and talk to me, ask me about YWAM and then go and do their DTS and then come back and be like, oh, praise God, you know we're like are currently doing it, and so I love that. Even those episodes are like I can say, oh, hey, yeah, go listen to like this episode on my YWAM experience, or my brothers or my sisters, or my sister and brother-in-law, Because currently I have one girl from my church who I mentor, who is doing her DTS at YWAM Ships. I have someone who's leaving on Friday who I met with Julie and I met with two years ago to talk about YWAM.
Speaker 3She's going to Ireland wow uh, one friend who is about to go to the Middle East to do her DTS okay.
Speaker 5YWAM discipleship training school.
Speaker 3Yeah that's like the first initial school you can do with YWAM. So, anyway, it's just so cool that now, like I have this like family history of YWAM. I've done YWAM and now I get to like commission out and and help equip other people who want to know about doing international missions and growing in that way. So yeah. I love that we got to use the podcast as a way to be like a resource for that.
Speaker 1Nice, nice, that's pretty great.
Speaker 4I have a lighthearted comment about, uh, the episode 20, which was, uh, the fourth part, four anyways. I I left the comment seven months ago about jairus's english accent. You did some type of imitation during the episode, so I wanted to know and I said like I wonder what it's gonna be like after we go to london this year, which we, you know, have. So I want to see if you wanted to try to do another, uh, british accent.
Speaker 2Yeah, a little little british accent or, if you wanted to try to, do another British accent.
Speaker 4Yeah, a little British accent, or whatever you want to call it. Come on, governor.
Speaker 3Oi, governor, go eat a little potato and a little. How about this one? How about this one? Hello everybody, and welcome back to. That's not in Irish, but I meant to be stampy.
Speaker 1Who's stampy? I'm kidding, I'm kidding.
Speaker 3Nine-year-old Janelle is about to be really offended.
Speaker 5Oh, little nine-year-old Janelle going to be a little little Russian with a mind.
Speaker 4Like who did you hear talking like that when we were there? I don't get it.
Speaker 1Not a soul, not a single person. Talk like that in England.
Speaker 4At least in London. We don't speak to London, I don't know, maybe somewhere out there, maybe with an oi bro, Then it would have been good.
Speaker 2Oi, doc, isn't it?
Speaker 5Isn't it Tuesday Aluminium?
Speaker 1Aluminium. Isn't it Tuesday Aluminium?
Speaker 2Aluminium, isn't it? Isn't it? I don't know why, but in my mind that's how every English person ends their sentence, isn't it? Some of them? Yeah, oi, you know where the bathroom is. I'll need to go and use it real quick, isn't it I?
Speaker 4think they say washroom, right Washroom.
Speaker 1I can't repeat what they say you don't even know Shakespeare.
Speaker 2He's from England, isn't he? Do you have a washcloset?
Speaker 3No washcloset is Canadian. I love the my days.
Speaker 5My days.
Speaker 3There's a YouTube channel that I watch and they're British and they eat a lot of food and they will say get stuck in, like whenever they're like eating food, they're like that's good, get stuck in.
Speaker 2What the heck. Some of the catchphrases that British people come up with. That was foul.
Speaker 1They say foul.
Speaker 2I think the best thing about British like whenever they get caught on camera like an American person will be like hey, you should try biscuits and gravy. And they're like that sounds terrible. And then they're like brown gravy with the little cookie biscuits. They're like oh, that's awful.
Speaker 1Have you seen? It's a TikTok of the guy talking to like acting British making fun of American food. I've got to find it. It is the funniest thing.
Speaker 2That's the thing. It's like, yeah, they dog it really bad. Like, oh, American food's awful. And then they try biscuits and gravy and they're like, wow, this is great.
Speaker 1The guy's like, oh, I could really use a spot of fish pea soup.
Speaker 2Ew yeah, dude, they eat wet toast, wet toast, yeah, beans and toast.
Speaker 3When I was in England, I did not eat. Well, I'm not going to lie how could they eat wet toast?
Speaker 2I boiled the beans and boiled the toast and put beans and toast, boiled the ghetto on the meat, but I ate it.
Speaker 1I found it. He said banana and fish pea soup.
Speaker 5Let's take bread, toast it and then soak it.
Speaker 3Toast it, soak it, smoke it With Bush's baked beans Bloke on it All right, I'm going to play this.
Speaker 1I'm going to play this.
Speaker 5By George, I could really go for a bowl of banana fish pea soup.
Speaker 2Oh God, I'm salivating just thinking about it.
Speaker 3Nice fruity fish bowl of peas and banana and sardines, Sardines, banana and peas.
Speaker 1I'll have my big bowl, please.
Speaker 2Very good, very good, it's funny yeah.
Speaker 3I would try blood pudding though.
Speaker 2I just think it's funny that the British don't have a whole lot of culinary excellence and then they try and dog America, where the culinary excellence of the then they try and dog America where, like, the culinary excellence of the world merges in America. Every ethnic group comes to America to make a restaurant.
Speaker 1They have one famous chef who's British and then all of a sudden they think that they know what food is, Are you?
Speaker 2talking about.
Speaker 3Julia Childs.
Speaker 2No, they have Gordon Ram and everyone and he's just a meme. That's what he is. He's just mean to people. Well, he's mean, but I'm saying he's an internet meme.
Speaker 3That's the only reason he's famous yeah, for the record, I knew that julia childs was american. I was just thinking of the spoof that someone made of her and she sounded kind of british uh-huh, sure sounded like the swedish chef from the Muppets, I don't even know who that is.
Speaker 2The Swedish chef, no.
Speaker 1I know who that is, I know which.
Speaker 2Muppet, you're talking about Jairus. Oh, we have a great idea for you.
Speaker 1Oh yeah, finally make me watch Muppet Treasure Island.
Speaker 2We're going to hoax you into thinking we're doing a birthday party for you. It's actually just a viewing of Muppets Treasure Island.
Speaker 1It's just such a running joke now in the family that it's funnier to not watch it at this point.
Speaker 2Yeah, but you're going to be thinking you're going to a Christmas Eve service and you guys are going to show up and you're going to walk in and it's just 40 people just sitting. And then the movie comes on and you're like wait a minute.
Speaker 4I mean that would be funny, because we do watch the Muppets Christmas, every Christmas.
Speaker 1Now, right, yeah, I love that one. I watch that one all the time. Why did you say it that way?
Speaker 2You're just like. I love that one Muppets, Treasure Island sucks.
Speaker 1I haven't even seen it. I've never seen it. Anyways, all right, so yeah, yeah, back on track. Where even were we?
Speaker 2Well, we were going to go to Ashley, but her favorite is Julie's favorite, yeah, and then your favorite. Can we talk?
Speaker 1about the Twilight episode.
Speaker 2Yeah, so that's what I was going to say. So now we'll move into the silly episodes. So the Twilight argument.
Speaker 1So the Twilight argument, so the Twilight debate, or I think it was the greatest debate, the debate of the century or something like that is what it was called. The most fun I had recording an episode, because it was the only episode of the podcast that was written, like all the other episodes. Yeah, we have our notes who come in, but it's not scripted or anything. But that one was completely scripted. We had so many takes because every time me and John started saying something we would just bust out laughing. If there was something to release bloopers on, that one would be hilarious to have bloopers for.
Speaker 2It was hard to keep a serious face.
Speaker 1The whole time talking about Jacob's rock-hard abs or whatever Covered in hair.
Speaker 2Covered in hair Covered in.
Speaker 4Ew.
Speaker 1Yeah, oh my gosh. And then just at the very it was so funny because at the very end, when we're going Raper fools, is our legitimate laughing at the fact, yeah, of what we were doing. And that wasn't even like a fake. I got you Like no, we were laughing, yeah.
Speaker 3Honestly, there should be like you re-listen to the episode and like count how many times jerry said dreamy because he was like edward is dreamy, like, so, like, aggressively what made it what?
The Mormon Episode Deep Dive
Speaker 2we did that, and then after that my wife and I watched all the Twilight movies, so it just solidified the debate. I was like God, these movies are so awful, so bad. Well, okay, maybe I shouldn't say bad, just really like cheesy.
Speaker 3No, they're bad. Have you seen the camera angles, the lighting of it? Like it's unsettling. And maybe it's supposed to be unsettling on purpose, but I had so many moments where I was watching it that I was like this just isn't, these just aren't good ideas. They would just like the camera would just spiral towards the sea like the sky well.
Speaker 1But in their defense, the fifth movie was pretty good, so they did redeem it with that I mean they, the fifth one finally got a budget, because it's like the books aren't terrible. They're not like you know, they're not works of art or anything. What? The books aren't terrible? No, seriously, the books are not like works of art, but they're not like terrible things to read. But then you watch the movies and they're unwatchable.
Speaker 3I disagree. Wait, you both have read them.
Speaker 1I have, yeah, I have, I've dabbled, I Wait you both have read them.
Speaker 5I have, yeah, I have, I've dabbled, I have what?
Speaker 3This is crazy, Julie. Have you read the book? I've never picked up that book in my life. I've never read the book. John, have you read the book?
Speaker 2You said crazy with a W and you're like this is crazy.
Speaker 1This is crazy. Whoa hey, it's because she's missing all her teeth, but two of them, no.
Speaker 3I know, Another one coming in.
Speaker 2But seriously, I recently. So we watched the first four and then I recently watched the fifth one. I was like you know what they did? They did pretty good redeeming it with the fifth one.
Speaker 3Except the creepy CGI baby.
Speaker 2That's the fourth one.
Speaker 3Oh, I haven't seen any of the movies.
Speaker 2Oh yeah.
Speaker 3Well, the fourth one's called the Batman, oh Good.
Speaker 1And then the seventh one is called Harry Potter, isn't it, isn't it?
Speaker 2Harry Potter, did you put your name In the gobble of fire, isn't it?
Speaker 3Harry Potter. Do you prefer Edward or Jacob?
Speaker 2Isn't it? I'm an adolescent, sir Harry.
Speaker 3Potter, do you prefer Edward or Jacob, isn't it? I'm an adolescent, sir.
Speaker 2Wait, he prefers Cedric.
Speaker 1Diggory, cedric, diggory. Goes on a big array, isn't it? You prefer Cedric?
Speaker 2Diggory or Victor Crumb. Oh golly, maybe we should do that, maybe we should do a versus. But it's Harry Potter versus something else, so we can make fun of each other.
Speaker 1I feel like anytime we bring up Harry Potter though, it's like.
Speaker 3You hate Jesus.
Speaker 1Yeah, if you like Harry Potter, you hate Jesus. Yeah, we do do that. I want to bring something up. I have worked Diligently To create an application About Saints that Serve and if you have any question about the Saints that Serve podcast, it'll give you the answer. So, as a test, I asked it after feeding it all the podcast information how many times was Jesus mentioned overall on all 51 episodes? Because we're recording 52 right now.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1And plus bonus. So how many times do you think Jesus was mentioned across all of the saints that serve Podcast?
Speaker 3Like the name Jesus.
Speaker 1Just the word, the name Jesus.
Speaker 3Is it more than like?
Speaker 1Is it bigger than a bread basket?
Speaker 3Is it bigger than?
Speaker 5a whale 137 times.
Speaker 3I would say like 2000. I'm going to say 497.
Speaker 2That seems all really high. Like I'm being super critical of us. I'm like I don't know, maybe like 75 times, 90 times, I thought 137 was pretty moderate.
Speaker 5Like he's pushing the, she goes 2,000. Everybody point and laugh at Dylan.
Speaker 1It was 143.
Speaker 3Wait, what I overshot for real.
Speaker 1Yeah, so if you have any questions about the podcast Over 9,000. Over 9,000. So if you have any questions, you know, just if you want to bring it up about the podcast, ask it and we'll see.
Speaker 2How many times do we mention video game, Honestly that?
Speaker 5was a great guess on my part. That was good, that was really close.
Speaker 3Such a good guesser.
Speaker 2You're so good at guessing, honey.
Speaker 5I guess I'll marry you.
Speaker 1I think the real question is how many times did Jairus talk about Kingdom Hearts? Too many to count no four times. How many times did Jairus talk about Kingdom Hearts? Too many to count no four times?
Speaker 3How many times did you bring up Lord of the Rings?
Speaker 2Oh, that'll be the next one. That's a good one.
Speaker 5Is this an?
Speaker 1AI thing, no, I actually had to feed. Yes, it's AI, but I had to feed it into this app. All of this data about the podcast, Wow, so I have the answer already. The term video games was mentioned 92 times across the across all the episodes hey, you talk about jesus more than video games but barely apparently it's pretty good though, jesus, over games.
Speaker 3No, put that on your wall j Jesus over games.
Speaker 1Put Jesus over the word games.
Speaker 3Yeah, let's make a Hobby Lobby sign. Hobby Lobby sign. Put it in your dining room with a game controller on it, but it has to be like the greater than simple.
Speaker 5Yeah, the greater than simple.
Speaker 2Jesus greater than games.
Speaker 1Just a controller. Well, G and a controller, Wait G.
Speaker 5God, oh, I was like Jesus. Jaysus, jaysus.
Speaker 2Gazus, gazus.
Speaker 3Over a game.
Speaker 1Do we have any more questions?
Speaker 2The Lord of the Rings. Oh, what was it? How many times is Lord of the Rings brought up? Riveting, riveting, riveting, quite.
Speaker 3Quite excellent.
Speaker 5Yeah, after this episode In, it's gonna be mentioned the most.
Speaker 1We just need a shirt that says In it, on it, in it.
Speaker 2Just a silhouette Like someone like Out in it. In it Are we still working?
Speaker 1on merch? No, no, let someone out in the end. Are we still working on merch? No, no.
Speaker 2We've made a lot of promises and never fulfilled any of them.
Speaker 3Oh my gosh, Do y'all have any guesses, I'm going 200. More than.
Speaker 1More than Jesus.
Speaker 5More than Jesus. I have no concept of.
Speaker 2I don't know. I feel like when we talk about Lord of the Rings, we say Lord of the Rings a lot.
Speaker 3Yeah, it's 132 times, so not quite as much as Jesus, still less than Jesus, that's good cause.
Speaker 2That's the thing is like. I feel like we interchange Jesus, god and he, and we'll like in the context, we're talking about him a lot, but we'll use different words to be talking about the same thing, you know, whereas Lord of the Rings is like Lord of the Rings. You got to say Lord of the Rings for Lord of the Rings, because Lord of the Rings is Lord of the Rings.
Speaker 3Yeah, but you could be making references without saying Lord of the Rings.
Speaker 1So to bring Ashley up to speed, she had to go walk the dog. I have an application that you can ask any question about the podcast and so far we've asked how many times was Jesus mentioned? And it was 143 times. Lord of the Rings, and what was the other one? How many times video games was mentioned? That was 92 times.
Speaker 4Okay.
Speaker 1And Lord of the Rings.
Speaker 3Janelle tried to run away from.
Speaker 1Raven. Get away from the dog and the dog was like playtime. Oh, we're running now. She said I've got you for three minutes. Three minutes of playtime.
Speaker 2You're going nowhere she senses the fear. Do what.
Speaker 4She says you really can't sense the fear. Nowhere she senses the fear. You know, Do what.
Speaker 1She says you really can sense the fear. She senses the fear. Lord of the Rings was mentioned 132 times across all episodes. And what was my next question? How was I supposed to be typing in?
Speaker 2We were asking Ashley.
Speaker 1What should we ask about the podcast?
Speaker 2Many times it's the word wife.
Speaker 3Yeah, I was like my wife Ashley.
Speaker 2Because I talk about my wife too, so we probably talk about wife.
Speaker 3Praise my wife. Yeah, that's a good one.
Speaker 2That was an opportunity for Ashley to just catch him out in the open. How many times do you talk negatively about your? We did have that segment for a couple episodes of things.
Speaker 1My wife said yeah, that's true, we did have that segment for a couple episodes of things. My wife said yeah, that's true. We did do that. The word wife was mentioned 106 times. Wow, it was mentioned three times in the summer movie draft showdown. There you go.
Speaker 3I wonder why.
Speaker 1In the election night live stream, wife was mentioned seven times.
Speaker 4That was kind of funny. I thought I was thinking what about Jairus versus Johnny? It should be roughly equal, except for the fact that Johnny was sick for those four weeks. But we said his name even when he wasn't there. Yeah, yeah. What's the count of that?
Speaker 2Ooh.
Speaker 3I feel like there's been a few intros where Jairus has introduced himself more times as Johnny than Jairus Wait what?
Speaker 1Yeah, where I said I am Johnny.
Speaker 2Well, while we're doing that, if you guys want to start thinking in your heads what is your favorite movie, what is your favorite game, and then the final one will be a cryptid what's been your favorite cryptid discussion, and that's all that cia, the cryptozoology, animals, aliens, all of it. So I'll be thinking about that while we cryptids mentioned in the show or overall it can be overall.
Speaker 2I'm gonna go out on a limb and say most people here, most of their exposure to cryptids is probably through that show, because I'm the only nerd who's going out looking this stuff up. How many times has your name mentioned?
Speaker 1It's loading right now.
Speaker 3Oh, dang I want to know how many times Janelle gets interrupted whenever she's on the podcast Every time you guys have a guest, 576 times Every time you have a guest you listen so patiently, and then you have me on and I talk and it becomes a joke every single time, bro.
Speaker 2When we interrupt you.
Speaker 3Yeah.
Speaker 2Oh, what what? We interrupt you. Why are you not talking? Are we interrupting you? We're not even interrupting you and you're acting. Are we interrupting you? We're not even interrupting you and you're acting like we're interrupting you Dang Wait.
Speaker 3How many times was Jairus' name mentioned?
Speaker 1It's still loading. Hold on, I got to take care of the dog.
Speaker 2Apparently more than everything else we've asked to do.
Speaker 3More than Jesus.
Speaker 2That's okay.
Speaker 3I mean Jesus doesn't have an intro for the podcast, so it's true.
Speaker 2Maybe we should do that. My name's Johnny, this is Jareth and our third is Jesus Christ.
Speaker 3There's another in the fire.
Speaker 2Yeah, all right. Well, while we're doing that, a little side tangent what is your favorite movie? We'll just say, in this season of life, what's your enjoyable flick Ladies first.
Speaker 3Every season of my life, my favorite movie is Little Women or Lego Batman Okay, greatest Batman movie of all time. Bestman movie of all time. Batman movie of all time who's batman in that?
Speaker 2who plays batman?
Speaker 3arnett there we go will arnett is the best batman of all time the worst movie, interrupting janelle oh, it is not. It's the best. My favorite movie is little women and I'm so excited because, now that I'm engaged, I told my fiancé I want a little woman. Loki. I told him when we started dating. He was like oh, what's your favorite movie? I said Little Women. He was like oh, we should watch it sometime.
Speaker 3And I said no, no, like you're going to need to, like you're going gonna need to marry me first like this is like this is a really deep emotional thing for me, like we can't just watch this movie together, like that's too much, too intimate, that's too intimate. And so when we had our I don't love you enough. Yet when we had our engagement party, I was like we can finally watch Little Women together. And he was like have I done enough, janelle? Have I proved to you?
Speaker 2Now that you've ponied up and you're going to marry me, let's watch Little Women.
Speaker 3And now I keep on bringing it up and he's like, no, I don't want to watch it.
Speaker 2You know what I've changed my mind.
Speaker 1I don't think I anyone will watch that movie. Okay, so this misunderstood what I was asking for. It thought I was asking how many times was Jairus and Johnny mentioned together? 42 times.
Speaker 2Wow, Wow. All right. What about you, Anjali? Do you have a flick that you enjoy?
Speaker 3I enjoy many flicks, the wrist or finger variety Movies. I have seen them.
Speaker 2I watch film. I've been in front of a TV before.
Speaker 3No, I honestly, I'm going to shout out the Clue movie, I think it's underrated and we don't talk about it enough yeah.
Speaker 2It's from the 80s, though, right, or is it 90s?
Speaker 3I think it's 90s.
Speaker 2Is it 90s? Either way, it's good.
Speaker 3It's a cult classic. Love the board game, love the movie, love the aesthetic, love the soundtrack. That's a fall, that's an autumn movie right there, 85.
Speaker 1Oh, I was wrong 85. Or Clue I really like that movie. They're re-releasing it and they have the different endings being shown their anniversary.
Speaker 2An alternate ending yeah anniversary, releasing it, not like redoing it and releasing it. Oh, praise the Lord, I can't take it on the remake yeah, well, but it it's not a remake, I guess it's a reboot. But uh, naked gun, we went and saw in theaters. That was really hilarious hilarious.
Speaker 1Okay, so I've got a number comparing Johnny and Jairus being mentioned. So who do you think was mentioned more? Johnny.
Speaker 3Yeah, I'm going to guess Johnny too.
Speaker 1Janelle, what do you think?
Speaker 3Because you always introduce yourself as Johnny. I think it well. We do make fun of you a lot. Oh, thanks.
Speaker 2Yeah, but think about all the times that we're not even talking about me. Like we'll mention Johnny Bravo or Johnny Bravo.
Speaker 3Yeah, I'm going to guess, Johnny more.
Speaker 4I'm voting cheers Aw.
Speaker 1Thank you.
Speaker 5Your biases failed you.
Speaker 1So the name John was mentioned 291 times, whoa, and the name Jairus was mentioned 167 times. That just shows that I talk to John more than John talks to me.
Speaker 2No, but, like I said, it's not always me. There's other Johns that we say in jest Wow, okay.
Speaker 3Also Jared's introducing himself.
Speaker 5That's where my mind was going that's true, I'm.
Speaker 1Johnny.
Speaker 3And I'm also Johnny Welcome to the Thick Dick Dab.
Speaker 2Yeah, all right, true, I'm johnny and I'm also johnny, welcome to the thing. Yeah, all right favorite movie do you have a movie this season that you frequent yeah, this season.
Speaker 5Well, now I will frequent oh, hold on, yeah.
Speaker 1Note on john versus johnny. For the purposes of this count, instances of john were included only when the context clearly indicated it referred to the co-host Johnny. Oh dang, this thing is intelligent. This app. I found this thing is smart.
Speaker 3Official and intelligent this AI is brilliant, man Isn't it?
Speaker 2Isn't it? What's your movie?
Speaker 5Right now I would say Zathura, just because I watched it like a week ago. Y'all know Zathura. Zathura, it's one of the board game movies no, I'd rather Jumanji, no, no, whoa, pause. You said it's a board game movie. Yeah, it's a knockoff movie.
Speaker 1It is 100% a knockoff copy clone of Jumanji. It's so much better than Jumanji. You know who's in it.
Speaker 5Kristen Stewart is in it. Yep, kristen Stewart's in it. Boom, bazinga, bazinga. You know who's in Jumanji.
Speaker 3Jack Black.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 5No no no. Kevin Hart, no, robin Williams. That movie did not happen.
Speaker 2I'm not talking about wayne johnson, yeah, that one, jevin hart starring in every flop from 2021.
Speaker 1They think they're together and they make money.
Speaker 4They're the real cryptids.
Speaker 1They're the real cryptids the mystery is why do they keep making movies together? Yeah, yeah, but yes, I'm talking about the original drew munchie. I don't count the other two yeah, they don't care. But who's that? Yeah, they don't count.
Speaker 5But who's the kid, the older brother, the actor, he's Peeta right.
Speaker 3Yeah, Josh Hutcherson.
Speaker 5Peeta, really yeah, peeta, peeta, yeah Peeta, peeta Park, peeta Park oh.
Speaker 3Peeta.
Speaker 1That movie's fire. Y'all should watch it. It's a great. I've seen it a long time family friendly.
Speaker 2Not really, it's literally jumanji in space.
Speaker 1It's still a board game that takes over everything. It's a copy clone of jumanji. Why are you?
Speaker 2trying to. It's not good, there's so much eye contact with me.
Speaker 5There's so much childhood pain that is like being yeah, jumanji was my, inflicted upon me your favorite movie is trash and you're trash because that's your favorite movie.
Speaker 2All right, flicked it upon me. Jairus is looking at Jairus.
Valentine's Day and Couples Discussions
Speaker 1Jairus is like your favorite movie is trash and you're trash because that's your favorite movie. Alright, listen, Isn't your wedding supposed to be like Guns N' Roses themed? Wouldn't you prefer the thing that has references? Welcome to the Jungle.
Speaker 5Dude, I couldn't even. I don't even know that. I'm being honest with you, julie is the brilliant pun one. She pulled that together. I haven't even listened to that song. That's the song Guns and Roses. Yeah, the song is called Guns and Roses. Let me just exploit myself right now.
Speaker 2It's a band, no, but you're treating them like they're Mormons. You're trying to protect me from their false doctrine Because you're making eye contact with them. You're like the movie. The movie's awful, don't watch it. This is the Mormonism to Christianity.
Speaker 5Yeah, guys. I guess I won't say it.
Speaker 1Christianity is Jumanji, all the other cults is Zathura.
Speaker 2Dang. All right, okay, but Zathura, zathura.
Speaker 5Okay, I'm sorry.
Speaker 2Zathura.
Speaker 4Okay.
Speaker 2All right, hey Ashley, what are you?
Speaker 4enjoying. One of my favorite movies of all time is 500 Days of Summer. It has Joseph Gordon-Levitt in it, who I like as an actor, and it what is that name? Zooey Deschanel as well. But yeah, I don't like romance movies at all, but I do like movies that are more realistic or that have a kind of sad ending, because I think that's more realistic to life If they mention romance in it, I don't know. Anyways, that's one of those type of movies. Plus, it has like the best soundtrack ever, like that's when I first heard the song Sweet Disposition by the Temper Trap and I literally love that song. So I can really just watch that movie just to hear that song playing in one scene.
Speaker 1Luckily there's a thing called Spotify.
Speaker 4Well, I use Apple Music because you, you know because that's what we pay for yeah that's what we have yeah, but you, your romance didn't end sad yeah, but in movies yeah, but not wait no no, not ever, but in movies they never. They depict romance in a very like dramatic way. You see the very super toxic and or you know, and all is forgiven at the end because someone runs after them. At the end, you know, like the whole movie scene whatever the trope.
Speaker 4I got you the cheating, the glorification of adultery. There's just so many things wrong with, I guess, romance movies or you know, but yeah, so I think, like the ones that ironically end did you say reacher?
Speaker 5preach it oh we said preacher iacher.
Speaker 2I was like that's not a romance.
Speaker 3No, I agree with Ashley. I also like 500 Days of Summer and La La.
Speaker 5Land, yeah, I can think of a name La La Land's on my top 10. It is on my top 10.
Speaker 4It made me almost cry at the end La La Land it was real. La.
Speaker 1La Land. It's the same thing Singing in the Rain and La La.
Speaker 3Land. You haven't seen An American in Bears, why are you watching La La Land?
Speaker 2Alright Jers. What's an enjoyable flick that you're regularly watching. Regularly watching or occasionally watching, regularly watching, what's a movie that you would always recommend to somebody, shrek somebody wants no?
Speaker 1get out of my swamp no, I think shrek is the movie I've seen more than any other movie. Okay, back when I was a child, I owned like one DVD and I couldn't fall asleep unless I was watching something, so I just turned on Shrek every night to go to bed Till this day Till this day. Whoa called out Everybody, let's shuffle upstairs and we'll all look at my Shrek collection.
Speaker 3Sorry. So you've been roasting all of our movie choices and yours is Shrek. That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.
Speaker 2You should hear him play it up, because he's like they spent all this money on Prince of Egypt. I mean, don't get me wrong, prince of Egypt is great, but then Shrek did way better in the theaters, no, seriously.
Speaker 1When they were making. No, listen, listen. Actual funny story. Funny story at DreamWorks when they were making Prince of Egypt if you got in trouble while making Prince of Egypt, they sent you to go work on Shrek. So they sent and the people referenced to it is they got sent to the dungeon to animate Shrek.
Speaker 3Shrek was the timeout corner for.
Speaker 1DreamWorks. It is so funny Financially speaking, Shrek made so much more money than Prince of Egypt, but Prince of Egypt is such a better movie it is quite excellent.
Speaker 5I've never even seen it. Prince of Egypt.
Speaker 4No, oh my gosh that is a classic right there. That is a beautifully animated classic movie.
Speaker 2Yes, Okay. Well, now you know what you guys have to watch.
Speaker 3There's a lot I have to educate him on, it's okay.
Speaker 2Okay, but this goes to the top of the list Like number one.
Speaker 3Also Prince of Egypt. The musical is incredible.
Speaker 1Mm-hmm of Egypt. The musical is incredible. Just the music in general from that would warrant it. Is there any extra songs that they added in? There is Okay.
Speaker 3The choreography is incredible because they literally there's this one scene where the baby is like cast off into the river. And so it's these people like rolling on the ground and as they roll the like baby in the. It's not a real baby, but you know the baby in the basket like gets rolled over the people.
Speaker 1I also really like.
Speaker 2Watchmen. Watchmen the adult DC. Yeah.
Speaker 4Jairus is probably the only person I know who really likes DC movies, I think before we got together I rarely watched any DC movies, you know.
Speaker 2And now it's grown on you my thoughts exactly.
Speaker 4Okay. Like the Batman movies, like Christian Bale and stuff like that, those are good movies. Now, that wasn't a part of the Snyderverse or the whatever James Gunn-verse.
Speaker 1I really liked Zack Snyder as a director.
Speaker 4Batman is one of my favorite characters.
Speaker 1He made Watchmen people.
Speaker 4Oh, he did make well, yeah, he did make. Well yeah, he did make Watchmen 300.
Speaker 1And Shrek and Shrek. Funny enough, Wait, really no not at all.
Speaker 5Not Shrek so gullible. I'm like man. This is cool.
Speaker 3He's like I'm learning so much today.
Speaker 5I see it, I see it now.
Speaker 2I mean I don't get the Rings. As far as an individual movie, I like the Mummy.
Speaker 4Oh yeah, Classic.
Speaker 2It is quite enjoyable.
Speaker 5Is that with Brandon Fraser?
Speaker 1Brandon Fraser, yeah. I swear if you're about to say it never seen it.
Speaker 5I haven't seen it. I know Brandon Fraser got his job done.
Speaker 2We'll do a movie night at my house and you can come over and watch it it is one of those few movies that is just truly 90's action perfection.
Speaker 5The Scarabs right.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 5Spring cleaning?
Speaker 2Let me guess Spring cleaning.
Speaker 1Looks like somebody's on the wrong side of the river.
Speaker 3Oh god, it looks to be like I've got all the horses. Was there another question after the movie?
Speaker 2Yeah, I'm going to ask you guys are you playing any games right now, currently? What is your current game?
Speaker 3Only mind game.
Speaker 2Or what would you like to be playing?
Speaker 5Sly.
Speaker 1Cooper 2. Sly Cooper 2. Sly Cooper, seriously be playing mine sly cooper 2. Fly cooper sly. Sly cooper, seriously great game, sly cooper 2 I played. I played two and three and I never really played the first one.
Speaker 5First one I got it. It's trash. Is it really bad? Yeah, it's just ps1 old game. You have to stay in line. Yeah, sly cooper 2 was like open world. Yeah, it was like one of the first few games. It was open world and it was tremendously amazing. And then three was amazing and then I went back to play one because I loved it so much and it was just like that poor turtle got crippled yeah bentley got crippled yeah and now I'm playing dishonored too, because it's it, it's reminiscent of it did you ever play?
Speaker 1not Insidious, infamous.
Speaker 5Infamous.
Speaker 1no, it's the same company that made Slack Cooper, but it's like a superhero superpower game. I highly recommend it.
Speaker 5Oh, I know the game you're talking about. Yeah, I know the game.
Speaker 1There's like there's two ones where you play as Cole McGrath, and then the third one is the one I would recommend that is not really connected to the other two.
Speaker 5Okay.
Speaker 1It's on PS4.
Speaker 5I know the game you're talking about though, get it, play it, it's great.
Speaker 2Platinum, we're giving you a bunch of homework, right now so much. All right, Jarius, what are you currently playing?
Speaker 1I just bought Hollow Knight Silksong.
Speaker 2You want to elaborate a little bit for us. It's a video game. Doesn't know what it's about.
Speaker 1It's like a um Metrovania, where you're like a bug going through like this cavern trying to save the world. Okay, the bug world or the bug world.
Speaker 3Bug Savior Complex.
Speaker 1I'm also playing a little game called Fantasy Life Eye. Yeah, you were telling me about that. I talked about that one.
Speaker 3Yeah, life, I yeah you're telling me, but I talked about that one. Yeah, yeah and yeah, that's it.
Speaker 2Ladies are you playing any games? I am. I am playing hell divers 2 a lot. I shouldn't, but I will but I am well. I only get to play at night, like after the boys have gone to bed, and you know I still have to get up in the morning. So it's like sometimes you play a little long and then you're tired the next day, so but it is very enjoyable. I could talk about that game for like an hour. It's so much fun and there's so much like. The game's only been out for what?
Speaker 5two years now, but there's so much in it already that it's just hell divers yeah, hell, divers too.
Speaker 1You played with this once, haven't?
Speaker 5you uh more than once, but yeah, a handful.
Speaker 1Yeah, we played a couple times. Yeah, I bought it because of y'all dude, it's so much. It's a lot of fun. Um, I didn't have a lot of fun the last time we played because I was having computer issues. Yeah, we solved those computer issues, hey so I think we should be good yeah, like tonight I've got some podcast editing to do yeah.
Speaker 2Okay, ashley.
Speaker 4The Sims how are Sims going?
Speaker 1It's going great actually Tell us about how one of your male characters got pregnant.
Speaker 4Pause One of my male characters got abducted by an alien. You know, yeah, so I have an alien child. You can send them back to the alien world, but I just don't believe in that. You know what I mean.
Speaker 1So morally it's not right reach it.
Speaker 4So yeah, but um, now, since I'm sims, I'm also playing animal crossing new horizons a little bit and, uh, pokemon go, that's. Yeah, I've been doing that like crazy, trying, but also because I'm trying to be more active and it's actually nice to go on a walk, take Raven, our dog, and catch a Pokemon. Yeah, those are my games.
Speaker 1There you go, there you go. What are you playing, julie Life?
Speaker 3Yeah, I'm more of a player. I don't really like games. That doesn't make sense, I just play, I just play. Yeah, no, I really only do board games.
Speaker 2What's a go-to board game for you?
Speaker 3I'm loving Five Minute Dungeon right now. It's so fun. I just taught Carter and Dylan how to play Clue.
Speaker 1For the first time, clue Jr.
Speaker 3No just regular Clue.
Speaker 2I thought you were going to say that you just taught them how to play five-minute Dutton. That, too, moved up.
Speaker 3And Catan, catan. All roads lead back.
Speaker 2To Catan. Do you have any brick? No, but I got sheep. Do you need sheep?
Speaker 1Do you have any brick? No, I have clay. I have sheep. Do you need sheep? Do you have any brick? No, I have clay. I have got clay, it's not called brick, you idiot.
Speaker 2It's not rock.
Speaker 5It's stone. You need any tree. I got plenty of tree. I don't, I don't, it's wool, not sheep.
Speaker 2Anyways, all right, janelle.
Speaker 3Playing a lot of Duck Duck Goose Tag.
Speaker 1Red Robin. No, what is it, red Rover?
Speaker 3Red Rover Been playing some Red.
Speaker 2Robin yum, Just say you haven't been playing anything. You don't have to mess with us. Wow, so inconsiderate Over here. Just wow, Making fun of her. Looks like it. She's our.
Speaker 1Wow, so inconsiderate Over here just wow, Making fun of her. Looks like she's our-.
Speaker 3Uno, no mercy with me, I did.
Speaker 1It looks like she was our first guest and is going to be our last guest.
Speaker 3This is my last episode on the pod. No, I used to play some games. I used to be a game girl. That was my favorite website games.
Speaker 2Until.
Speaker 3I matured and got engaged.
Speaker 1I'm so very, very busy.
Speaker 3I do like a little bit of Catan the last. See what I mean. See what I mean. Every other person answers seriously and they get to have it, not me.
Speaker 2It was perfect. I'm just so very, very busy and net.
Speaker 1Go ahead.
Speaker 2This is a trap, it's a trap, it's a trap, it's a trap, it's a trap, isn't it?
Speaker 5She knows about a crash out.
Speaker 3I already have Last video game I played, I think was, Isn't it?
Speaker 2Dang.
Speaker 3Redacted Jairus is actually getting replaced by me.
Speaker 2Oh, I thought you meant the game was called Redacted.
Speaker 1I'm sure there is a game called Redacted. It's possible.
Speaker 3Untitled Goose Game is what I was trying to say.
Speaker 1Untitled Goose Game.
Speaker 3I loved it. That was a lot of fun.
Speaker 1I enjoyed that game.
Speaker 3I played it with Ian, my fiancé.
Speaker 2Do you know what would be a really good couples building game? Keep talking, nobody explodes. Keep talking, nobody explodes. Oh my gosh, that would be so good idea, right? What is that? Oh my gosh, you're trying to disarm a bomb, but the instructions you don't. All you have is the bomb, and then someone else has the instructions.
Speaker 1Physically has pieces of paper, yeah, and it's a bomb defusal fusel manual. And so it's like Okay, I'm seeing wires, alright, what are the Color of the wires? And they're like Going through the manual, like okay, communication, it's a deep Communication game.
Speaker 2And it's timed, so you have until, and then if the bomb Goes off before you're done, then Then you break up, yeah break it up, let's do it.
Speaker 5I mean, we're gonna Do it right now. All right, tease me.
Speaker 1Okay, all right, you're short Handsome.
Speaker 2But you can only drive stick shift at work, isn't it? Isn't it? Isn't it? You like soggy toast?
Speaker 5Ah, no, no, no, he likes soggy chips though. Oh, what Soggy nachos? Yeah, definitely Got to sit there for a minute. Wet them up, wet them up.
Speaker 1Wet them up.
Speaker 2I don't like to chew my nachos. I like to drink them.
Speaker 1I like to strain the liquid from it. Get stuck in, isn't it? Get stuck in, isn't?
Speaker 3it. It's the new In-N-Out logo. Get stuck in. It's the new In-N-Out's logo. Get stuck in.
Speaker 2In-N-Out, get stuck in.
Speaker 5Are they saying it like get stuck in, like shoved, or get stuck in like it can't come out?
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 5I think it's like get stuck in.
Speaker 3Like you're getting into the food.
Speaker 5I'm getting stuck in like you're getting into the food.
Speaker 3Oh, I'm getting stuck in it, ew. I think any interpretation is going to be gross.
Speaker 2It's pulling me in. It's a black hole, I'm not going to make it out.
Speaker 1Isn't it?
Speaker 2Oh man, oh man, oh man. Anyways, yeah, cool.
Speaker 3Oh.
Speaker 2That's all I had. That's it. Yeah, I don't really have anything. What was the third one?
Speaker 5It was movies, video game and cryptid.
Speaker 2Oh, there we go. Thank you, sorry, sorry, all right, so now we'll go around and we'll ask you guys, what's your what? Maybe not your favorite, but what stood out to you the most as far as cryptids or conspiracy theories? We'll start with the one who does not like this at all Ashley, go ahead.
Speaker 4I actually advocated for the cryptic corner. There's like several episodes.
Speaker 1It's no longer called the cryptic corner.
Speaker 4What is it?
Speaker 1called the corner.
Speaker 4The corner, okay, the corner. But you know, back when it was the cryptic corner, it was a point where there was no episodes that didn't have it. But I can't even remember like one that is really good. I mean not that it was really good, I can't really remember. I keep thinking like the Loch Ness Monster. I don't even know about that. Or we did recently, though not a long time ago.
Speaker 1Yeah, I'm picked that. Yeah, that's what came to mind loch ness, there you go, because we talked about it, like if you see a picture of the loch ness monster, like what you typically say, oh, here's the, we captured a photo of it, and when you actually like see the full photo, you see how small and fake it actually is. But if it's zoomed in, it's obviously obviously like oh, this thing is huge. And then when you pull out, it's like at the bank of the beach, really close, and it's really tiny, like just a piece of wood.
Speaker 4Yeah.
Speaker 2So, yeah, just the Easily disproved the picture that was claiming to be it Like you can't like, oh I can. Sure that was claiming to be it like you can't like, oh I can I mean. But that's the biggest thing, like in the crypto world is people will falsify evidence the crypto world.
Speaker 1Cryptocurrency, I said cryptid. You said crypto, I said cryptid. Back me up. What'd he say?
Speaker 2hey, I've been making fun of you all. You guys all night, back me up who's gonna come to my defense? No, I'm sorry, cryptid. In the cryptid world, there's people that will falsify evidence in order to get whatever. I don't even know what they get from it, because it's kind of like a credit? I don't know yeah, like credit and stuff. But it's like, do they get paid in crypto? Maybe yeah maybe some.
Speaker 4Find one, then One Bitcoin please.
Speaker 2There you go, all right Moving on down the line.
Speaker 3I don't think about cryptids too much, kind of just Because.
Speaker 1I'm normal. Yeah, I think.
Speaker 3I like to go through life ignorantly and naive and just kind of do my little thing, don't dance my little dance. Go to work, go to sleep get married yeah, I get married um but sometimes I randomly like it'll hit me and I'll be afraid, and then I'll like just forget about it so I'm not afraid anymore. So something I think about uh, one time one of my sisters started explaining the wolf man dog man dog man. To me that freaks me out, what sister.
Speaker 3Jennifer, oh, freaks me out. I'll be driving at night and then I'll like think about it Because I am small. Okay, if, like, if any cryptid were to go after somebody, it would be me, like, when I was a kid, I used to be scared of birds because I thought they would like pick me up and like carry me on. To be fair, I told her that pretty much every day of her life.
Speaker 1Be careful, or the buzzard will get you.
Speaker 3That's a big hawk out there.
Speaker 5Janelle.
Speaker 3Yeah, like I would see like a flock of birds and I would like run under the porch to like Like a chicken. Yeah, I'd be, like they're gonna take me Anyway. So yeah, dog man, not a fan.
Speaker 1Not a fan of Bigfoot, not a fan, not a fan of Bigfoot, not a fan of the Thunderbird.
Speaker 5We know she's Team Edward.
Speaker 3Yeah, when all of the files on the alien, you know when in court they were like they're hiding this alien and we found it, I was saying with Jennifer and Sam and they were like Janelle, what would you do if aliens actually existed? And I was like I was about to crash out. I was like I can't even afford to go to college. And now you're saying there could be like an alien invasion and I'm going to get enslaved or something Like this is too much, I can't even like, pay my bills. So that's my thought on that. And then, oh, I went camping. I told you this when I got back from my camping trip.
Speaker 3I went camping and a missing woman was like there was a missing woman oh yeah right before or right before we got to the camp, and so the whole time we were like the killer. We were like we would say the name of the park and we'd be like, oh, there's a killer, which probably was a bad joke yeah, it's crazy but, um, because it was me and a bunch of my friends, so we're all just like young girls in the woods, but we had a boy scout troop camping right next to us, so I felt very safe there you go, because the cryptid would have got them first.
Speaker 3Yeah, because that was the thing. When I talked to John about it, he was like it's the mushrooms. Wait, what did you say? The fairy?
Speaker 2The fae folk.
Speaker 3Oh yeah, Was it that or a door, I don't know. You said A door?
Speaker 1Oh my gosh that door is going to get me.
Speaker 3I don't know. I just remember I was saying like, oh, like the woman was missing, and you were like oh yeah, people go missing in the woods all the time.
Speaker 2Oh, missing 411.
Speaker 3Some people say it's because of this or that Portals Portals, not a door. Mistake door with portal.
Speaker 1It was either fairies or a door I can't remember.
Speaker 3It was a fairy door called a portal.
Speaker 2Yeah, it was a portal, isn't it?
Speaker 3Got him Alright, it's like not even funny anymore, but the fact that we just keep doing it makes it funny.
Speaker 1Isn't it?
Speaker 2Alright. What about y'all over there? What do y'all got Conspiracies or crypt crap, that's all.
Speaker 5I've got so many yeah he knows way more than I do.
Speaker 2I mean, okay, I'm not looking for you guys to be experts here, I'm just saying, like, let me expert you. What's a point of interest?
Speaker 5Well, anywhere you know from, like Graham Hancock, discovering things the little people discovered, I think in Indonesia. I'm more in the cryptid space of the lost technologies and megalithic structures being found and things like the pyramids and the Aztecs and stuff like that. That's all like reused space and real estate, like what was going on before that. Yeah, um and it and uh. You know I was hearing like stuff like the nephilim agenda I'm always hearing about, but I don't know how I feel about like yeah, opinion wise, I just I don't like.
Speaker 5We talked about it last night. I don't discredit a lot of the stuff I hear. I just also haven't married myself to a strong belief thank goodness you didn't marry yourself that's what you have, julie. Sorry for using english but um, that was a good time for in it, but anyway um it's too late but yeah, I I do like, like, like.
Speaker 5When it comes like dogman and like bigfoot and stuff like that, I I don't delve into those spaces as much as I do. What was happening on earth, like you read the old testament and you hear about like the giants and before noah's time, that's that's where my interest is peaked because I'm like what was going on? Yeah, like, what were they up to? What were they doing that we could find today?
Speaker 2Yeah, because it is such a short amount of documentation for a very long time.
Speaker 5Yes, that frustrated me so much when I, like came to faith and I was like the Bible's going to tell me this stuff, and then it's like Genesis is like nah.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Nah, you don't really need to know any of that. All you need to know is they all suck yeah, yeah, exactly.
Speaker 5All you need to know is they don't exist anymore.
Speaker 2Yeah that's true. Well, or do they?
Speaker 5and that's where I'm at uaps and whatnot, but stuff like that. I like that like an unidentified aerial phenomenon. Um, that's I, I do. That's where I'm at UAPs and whatnot, but stuff like that. I like that like an unidentified aerial phenomenon. Um, that's I do.
Speaker 2That's a fighter the foo fighters yeah, yeah, so you don't have anything, julie but I'm sucking her in, don't worry. You guys gave me research for movies and stuff like that, but I'm do you know what you could get on board with doing a deep dive into Remote viewing?
Speaker 5I got into that too for a while.
Speaker 2That's an alley that you could be like I don't like that, this is a thing Because it's I mean, it's essentially it locks hands and hands with astral projection. That's essentially what it is. So you could get in and like why is this a thing? Why are they doing this? Why would they allow this? Because it was started by the CIA.
Speaker 3Wait like witchcraft.
Debating Movies and Entertainment
Speaker 2So yeah, remote, so like astral projection is something that happens in like, yeah, wiccan and stuff like that, right, new Age, all that stuff. Remote viewing is very like special forces, like intelligence gathering stuff, and so I mean we did an episode about it.
Speaker 5I've got some stories about that. No, but growing up my buddies were doing a lot of like astral projection, oh okay. And then, like one of them was talking about what I didn't know there was a term for remote viewing, yeah and something had taught him stuff. But a lot of my friends were like yeah, all you got to do is like I'm not going to say what they said because I don't want anybody getting any ideas, but you just got to do this and do that and then boom, you can do it. Since I was a kid, I was like this sounds creepy. But all my friends were doing these things and like, bro, I saw you last night and I'm like what?
Speaker 1By the way, it was episode four where we talked about remote viewing.
Speaker 2Okay, yeah, it was that early. Yeah, it was like it was yesterday. Well, because I found the CIA document about it. That's why I was like you know, let's go ahead and just talk about this real quick. Let's talk about the fact that the government tax dollars are going into. Hey, can we make somebody sit here, close their eyes and then pick up an image from halfway around the world, and can it be used as information?
Speaker 5Let's drop a billion dollars on that and stuff like the spelling, like the hill, yeah, stuff like that. I like that type of stuff.
Speaker 2Yeah, that piques my interest, I know everything you're talking about and I can tell everyone else around the table is like well, okay, yeah, but I'm deep in it.
Speaker 3I just don't talk about it. I know how to spell.
Speaker 5Yeah, do you Flabbergasted F-L-A-B-B-E-R-G-A-S-T-E-D.
Speaker 3Since I don't know how to spell it, I'll say it wrong. I'm great at spelling and I could spell on a hill too. Can you spell, fiancé?
Speaker 2Oh, to put it at the end of it.
Speaker 3You spelled it in you are the Winkers Link. Goodbye All right?
Speaker 2Well, that's everything that we got. We're winding down here. Do you have a cryptid that you want to say? Honorable mention, slenderman. I knew it.
Speaker 1I was going to say Skinwalker Ranch. Oh, we haven't even-. Huh, we haven't gone into that. Yet A hint at a future episode Skinwalker Ranch.
Speaker 2Skinwalker Ranch.
Speaker 1Disgust. Speaking of future episodes, does anybody have any suggestions for a future episode? Skinwalker Ranch Get stuck in, get stuck in.
Speaker 3Get stuck in Some veggies with your Skinwalker Ranch. So I guess that's a no. All right, get stuck in, get stuck in. Get stuck in Some veggies with your skin locker range.
Speaker 1So I guess that's a no. All right, I gave you one earlier.
Speaker 5Yeah, I think, get stuck in.
Speaker 2Get stuck in yep.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2Should we do that? Should we do an episode About getting stuck in Reviewing British baking and cooking and eating?
Speaker 3TV shows.
Speaker 2Please, can we watch the great british bake-off and then? Talk about how awful it is and like they don't even know how to cook.
Speaker 1There was a time there I remember early in me and ashley's marriage where we just turned on the great british baking show and just it was on, just repeated, constantly being played, and I just wanted to die. What no you?
Speaker 2I remember talking on the phone and you were like, yeah, I can't do anything tonight, constantly being played and I just wanted to die. What? No, you talked, I remember talking on the phone and you were like, yeah, I can't do anything tonight. We're watching our show and we really like it. That's crazy. And I was like, what are you watching? He's like I can't talk about it. The Great Big, the Great British. I was like, oh okay, I mean there's no judgment from my part, but you were like, trying to be secret, like I really like it, I gotta go back.
Speaker 1Well, here's the thing about that show. Here's the thing about that show. It's like you watch one season and that's all you should watch, because every single season is the same thing, with new contestants.
Speaker 3In my opinion, yeah, that's because it's a baking show. That's how every cooking and baking show is. That's like the Cupcake Wars. We used to watch Cupcake Wars all the time and each episode was the same. They'd just make cupcakes yeah, I think you're thinking of Cake Boss and those cakes were different every time. Okay, we also. Okay, maybe I watched a lot of baking shows with my mom Our mom, she's my mom my mama.
Speaker 5Isn't it, isn't it, isn't it, mother?
Speaker 2Do you guys know that this is what you're supposed to do with a can To hold your straw in place?
Speaker 1Yes, yeah, that little hole is for a straw.
Speaker 3I thought it was for making jewelry.
Speaker 1What are they? The tabs? What are they called? Yeah, it's a tab.
Speaker 3I thought it was a tongue. Yeah, I thought it was a tongue, yeah I thought it was a tongue A tongue, tongue, tongue, tongue, tongue, tongue of the king.
Speaker 2Tongue, tongue, tongue, tongue, all right, well, there we go, so no future suggestions for any.
Speaker 3We gave one earlier in the episode.
Speaker 1Yeah, what was it? What was it?
Speaker 3Playback, playback, it's Regal.
Speaker 4Shenanigans right yeah.
Speaker 2Regal Shenanigans. Okay, all right.
Speaker 3I think we could do more than one TPH.
Speaker 1Just like a whole month where we go over a couple of videos.
Speaker 2You hear her bringing herself into it. I think we could do a couple.
Speaker 3We should do multiple episodes.
Speaker 1Wait until you get married. That's when we're going to start asking you to come on every episode.
Speaker 5Yeah, I'll be busy, got an episode idea, All right Episode idea would be what would be a good way to prep for the fall of society, collapse of the American society? Yeah, because look yep, I can't get into it. A prepper episode. That would be a good topic, or?
Speaker 1the episode save it for that. That would be a good topic. That would be a good topic. Or the episode Save it for that. That would be a good topic, that would be a good topic. Okay, let me reword this what is a good episode that you want to be a guest on again? So yours is the Collapse of the American Society Boom. Regal shenanigans for Janelle.
Speaker 3I mean I'll be on the Harry Potter versus whatever episode.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 4Got Valentine's Day.
Speaker 2Part two Part deuce. All right, I would like to be on an episode, oh really, yeah, we might get you on next week, and I'd like to talk about Kingdom Hearts.
Speaker 1I'm leaving Kingdom Hearts. I was literally going to say Kingdom Hearts. Now I'm upset.
Speaker 2Okay, pete, and you have to say something that John would like to talk about. I just made him cry a little bit inside. You guys can't hear all the sound effects. I've been playing sound effects the entire time.
Speaker 3Oh really.
Speaker 1Yeah, we didn't have enough headphones, sorry.
Speaker 5I thought I heard something.
Speaker 3The voice is in your head.
Speaker 1Wait a minute. That was you guys. I want to have an episode about Greek mythology, and John is not going to be invited on that episode.
Speaker 5They're all Nephilim. It's all good bro.
Speaker 1Maybe you should have Bigfoot on to talk about. Yeah, we're going to have a whole episode about Bigfoot. It's just a cryptid episode, An entire episode. I was like we've talked about Bigfoot several times.
Speaker 2We talked about Bigfoot during the Mormon episode.
Speaker 1Here we go. We're going to talk about homesteading and John is not invited on that episode. There you go.
Speaker 2And.

Speaker 2The whole time. The guy who's poured money and time into homesteading, that's okay. Cool, great ideas.
Speaker 3Has Jera spent more money on Kingdom Hearts or has Johnny spent more money on homesteading?
Speaker 2I've spent more money on homesteading. Do you know how much money I spend in feed on a weekly basis?
Speaker 1It's been a minute since I bought something Kingdom Hearts related. The last time I did was in Japan.
Speaker 2My expenses are ongoing all the time.
Speaker 1They did announce new Funko Pops though, of Kingdom Hearts characters, so I will be spending money when those come out, Maybe.
Speaker 2If the boss says you can.
Speaker 1She can't tell me what to. I'm sorry.
Speaker 2She can't tell me what to do if I do it in private and she doesn't see she doesn't know about my secret space full of money. She doesn't know about my Kingdom Hearts credit card.
Speaker 4It's funny because we're pretty supportive of each other's hobbies.
Speaker 2And when I'll purchase this, especially games.
Speaker 4You're always like I'm going to buy this game and I'm like, okay, like when I'll purchase this, especially games? You're always like I'm going to buy this game and I'm like okay.
Speaker 1What's really funny is she comes to me way more than I come to her when she goes hey, there's a new Sims thing out, can I get it? Like sure, like at least every other week she's like a new Sims pack is coming out. It would be funny.
