I was pausing for dramatic effect and , sorry , I wanted to scare a few people . Sorry about that , that's my bad , yeah . I miss playing just just like an RPG with friends just sitting there . We didn't . I mean , we played the game , but I wouldn't even pay attention to the story . I just sat there and I killed those crustaceans on the beach .

Oh yeah , baby , oh , I'm going to tell we're done All right . Well , let's get into tonight's topics . So our first thing up is we're going to be talking about I labeled it as religions of the demonic . Essentially , it's a wrap up on spooky season , wrap up on spooky season . It's a wrap up on spooky season , wrap up on spooky season . I kind of want to hit on the two main like blatantly Satan demon religions , which are Satanism and Wiccan Also I want to , because we teased it a little bit at the end of the last episode .

Speaker 2Yep , so yeah , we into our experiences . Yep , so yeah , we are going to .
Speaker 1Yes , thank you for bringing that up and what we're going to do , because those stories get a little real life spooky . Yeah , we'll give a little warning when we're about to start .
Speaker 2Yeah , we'll give out the disclaimer . So this isn't . This is really just just a brief snippet for you guys . There's really kind of two branches . There's official Satanism and then there is Wiccan and Satanism like the Satanic church . Everyone thinks like , oh , they drink blood out of a cup and they worship Satan like we , as Christians sit in a cup and they like worship satan like we would like we , as christians , sit in a service and worship jesus .
Speaker 1But it's really more so full of like a really philosophical thinker types , you know , I mean like people that are like oh , I've got to be really smart and they're sitting there more of talking about and this is a guess like just kind of philosophical guessing saying things about why god isn't real or no or that .
Speaker 2That'd be atheism , I'm sorry well , but that's the thing is is sorry , not sorry , it not sorry , it's all trash , yeah it is , but like atheism is true , like I don't believe in religion and I don't believe in God , satanism is really . I mean , there might be small niches that are truly like worshiping Satan , but for the most part it's really . It's really atheism . They're just making it a religion where it's like throwing it in god's face . It's angry atheists . Angry atheists . They , they really don't like god . So , like the guy who kind of started and people might be might get mad at me for this and say , like you're butchering what satanism is , that's okay , but I'm gonna butcher it on purpose , like the guy who founded it lavoie , I think his name is . He wrote a book and he came up with like the doctrines and the principles for Satanism . So I've got from the official website of the Satanic .
Speaker 1Church . Just disclaimer . We don't believe any of this .
Speaker 2I don't know what you're about to say , but Well , okay , so Lavey , sorry , I , I said lavoie , his name is lave , but these are the nine . They're called the nine satanic sins . Okay , I'm not going to give the description of them , but these are the nine . It's stupidity , pretentiousness , solo solipatism , self-deceit , herd conformity , lack of perspective , forgetfulness of past orthodoxies , counterproductive pride and lack of aesthetics . So all that's kind of like what the heck , what is all that about ? It's kind of like what the heck , what is all that about ?
Speaker 2Really , if you look into , like hey , these are bad and these are things you don't need to do and these are things you need to stray away from and the satanic church have very much to do with self-focus and very little to do with looking out to others . It has a very much so like focus on yourself , because everyone else sucks . It has a very much so like focus on yourself because everyone else sucks . So focus on yourself and protect yourself , because everyone else out there is out to get you . So it's the reverse of do unto others as you would do to yourself . It's do to yourself as you would do unto others . So it's like they take that , that Christian principle of like if you want to love , if you want to be loved , love others . And they take it and flip it around and say others are going to hate you , so hate others . Jeez , is the idea .
Speaker 1So that's kind of the idea but essentially such a shut yourself and reject .
Speaker 2Yeah , look out . Look out for number one , because that's the only true way to be safe . Yolo and never Look out for number one , because that's the only true way to be safe . Yolo and never , never step out in faith . Never take anything on faith . Just focus on yourself . Have answers for everything , be super , focus on your intellect , that kind of stuff .
Speaker 1Do you remember that Lonely Island song , yolo ? Yeah , talking about how you only live once , so stay inside and hide all the time .
Speaker 2yeah , so that's kind of , uh , the church of satan . Once again , just a reminder to everybody like it's not that they are like for the most part , it's not that they're openly like worshiping the dean , like the fallen angel , satan , it's more so that they're worshiping themselves but they're anti-God . So it's not that they don't believe in God , it's that they are in defiance of God .
Speaker 1Be conceited , it's all about you , where Christianity is very much about surrender , correct ?
Speaker 2Yep , and so the other side of this is Wicca or Wiccan , which is pretty much like the best way to describe it , is earth worship at its essence , things from different pagan cultures of the past from europe , and really kind of make a a pagan religion salad , and that's the different things that they practice . So they take things from celtic practice , from norse mythology , from all these different things , and they just they do their seances . They have tarot cards and witchcraft books and it's all very much like what you think of , with witches and jasting spells and demonic possession . That all comes from the wiccan side of things and it is because they're very much so focused on the spiritual side of creation or the world and how the world , the physical and spiritual . You know the spiritual is greater than the physical , and so let's get into the spiritual stuff .
Speaker 1So it's a spiritual earthlyism or earthly spiritual mindset .
Speaker 2It's a spiritual creation worship , because their two main deities are a god and goddess , and the god is represented by the sun and the goddess is represented by the moon , and so creation aspects . So they're worshiping creation and not the creator . But it really , and that that's the essence of it , but it's really once again honing in on self , bringing it in Like what can these different things do for the betterment of me ?
Speaker 1Not . What can I do to better others ?
Speaker 2No , no , this is because , like um , here's the core of Christianity . No , no , this is because , like , here's the core of Christianity . Well , let me start with the core of these two religions , and really all religions , is how can I improve myself to be worthy enough to reach the next thing ? Whereas Christianity is , I'm not worthy . I must die to self and be in surrender to the creator I already have in Christ and living in that new identity , whereas these other world religions are I must obtain worthiness by my own feats , by my own accomplishments . So it's very much self-reliance , whereas Christianity is total dependence on God . We are in total surrender and dependence on God .
Speaker 2And these other religions are about what can I do to get to where I need to be ? Kind of deal , I got you . So they're no different than Islam or Hinduism or Buddhism . In essence , it's all about what can I be ? Working on myself to be the best self I can be ? It falls hand in hand locks arms , wiccan locks arms with New Age , because they do the same stuff . They do spiritual seances , practices , astral projection we talked about that , we talked about that , talked about that . All that stuff gets into that . It's just self-focused , whereas Christianity , true Christianity , is about self-rejection , die to self and live in Christ . So that's really the core . That's what I wanted to get at . So that's really the core . That's what I wanted to get at . Another thing about these religions is there is a flavor of secretism I'm not saying that right Secret society-like mentality . So the idea is like you're in this group , in this community , and we've got secret knowledge .
Speaker 1And the only way to obtain that secret knowledge is to be in our community , and that's kind of like all cults , too Correct it's . You have to come and you have to be with us for a certain amount of time and you know , and only our leader or special people have the special knowledge . And you have to come in and you have to talk to our special and you have to talk to our special person who communes to God , and they'll send your message to God for you . It's all that . It comes down to earthly people telling you how to commune with God , or I'm communing to God for you . I have all the knowledge . God's telling me all the knowledge and I'm resing to God for you , I have all the knowledge . God's telling me all the knowledge , and I'm you know , rescinding the message , where Christianity is .
Speaker 1We have a direct line with God .
Speaker 2Yeah , I've always understood it as like these secret societies and like things like Wiccan and stuff like that . The appeal to it is we have , we have hidden knowledge , and that's the fulfillment . That's where the fulfillment comes from , and so it's targeting people that have no concept of identity in Christ , but isn't ?
Speaker 1that just like anything , like we feel like .
Speaker 2I mean , let me get at it like . The core of it is like even though you may not know , jesus , you know something's missing , there's something off in you and you've got to fill it . And so people find different things to fill it in , and that's why these secret societies have this secret knowledge , air quotes it's . It's a mechanism . It's targeting people that like there's a void and I need to fill it , and they're like well , hey , we know how to , but the only way for you to fill it is if you join and you devote yourself to us and you work your way up in the ranks and you earn the right to hear the secret knowledge .
Speaker 1Correct , Isn't that just kind of like part of that is you've ? I'm sorry , excuse me , that's part of that human nature of , oh , I earned this . Yep , Like it's you know , like you know it's a secret . Ooh , they're letting me in . Like you feel really special that I deserve and I earned the right to hear this secret knowledge and that's what's great about our God it's not secret .
God's Dependence Over Secret Knowledge
Speaker 2Yep , yep . It's that the sin came into the world by man trying to step out and accomplish on his own rather than being dependent on God , and sin continues . And that's why it's so ingrained in our sinful nature of I need to do , I , I , I , I , I . And when I get these things done , then I'll be worthy , or then I'll have what I need , or then I'll be fulfilled . It's all about what do I need to do to get to that point .
Speaker 2But God makes it clear like we were created to work in God's creation , to have dominion over his creation , to be his reflection in creation , because we're made in his image . But that comes from a dependency on him . We trust in him for our daily bread , we trust in him for our provision , and we glorify and worship him that he is a good God who takes care of his people . Um and so when you live in that mode where your dependence is on the Lord and not on yourself , then that that void is filled , that peace that surpasses all understanding . It's like my world is chaotic right now and I couldn't explain it to you , but I'm at peace . That only comes from the lord right , that doesn't come from anything else .
Speaker 1So um , that's the feeling of somebody having your back , like you know what I mean . Yeah , things are going crazy , but you know good and well that everything's going to work out , correct ?
Speaker 2Yep .
Speaker 2So coming against the secret knowledge , because Paul dealt with this too during the first century church . You know , in Corinthiansians , um , people are , they're taking their focus off of christ and like trying to be super spiritual and do these different spiritual practices to be to unlock whatever ? And the idea is that it's secret knowledge . Like I'll , I'll be , I'll reach my next level of spirituality if I can obtain the secret knowledge . Um , so first corinthians , chapter two .
Speaker 2I'm gonna read one through , verse seven , just to try and give a little bit of insight into it . Quick , everybody , grab your bibles , hurry , he's starting , hurry . And I , when I came to you brothers , did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom , for I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified . And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling , and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom but in demonstration of the spirit and of the power , so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God . Yet among the mature , we do impart wisdom , although it is not a wisdom of this age . So , and he keeps going , but I wanted to read that first half , that verses one through five , to really hit home with .
Speaker 2When Paul came to them for the first time to minister and evangelize , he did not come with the best argument , philosophical argument . He did not come with the best scientific conclusions , scientific conclusions . He came in humility and he simply was an instrument of God's wonder to be used as God decided , decreed , or decided to reveal the love of Christ to people . And he did that and people got saved . People believed through his humble evangelism of the gospel of Jesus Christ . He demonstrated it . He didn't just win an argument . So it was through his words and his actions that he revealed the gospel . And he didn't do it with lofty words of humanity , he did it with humble , meek words of Jesus Christ and people were saved .
Speaker 2And he points out that the secret knowledge , the hidden knowledge , it only comes from God . It doesn't come from anywhere else . You can't get secret knowledge from doing these five steps , god . The secret knowledge is from the Lord and that knowledge is we've got it in the Old Testament it's God's the creator of everything . God's in control of everything , he's over all things . He's presently here with us , but he's also in the Old Testament God's the creator of everything , god's in control of everything , he's over all things . He's presently here with us , but he's also in the future and he's still in the past and he's everywhere all at once and he sees all the outcome of everything and he knows what you're going to do , he knows what you have done and he loves you all the same and he wants to be present in your life . So it's like the hidden knowledge is that God knows everything and he still loves you , you know .
Speaker 2So that's what I , that's what I want to hit home with people is God knows you , even if you don't know him , he knows you and he knows everything that you've done . He knows everything that you're going to do and he still loves you and he wants to be in communion with you , he wants to be in fellowship with you , he wants to be your God , he wants to be your father and he wants you to be his child . The only way to get that is to receive the forgiveness that's in Jesus Christ for our sins , christ for our sins , our defiance of God , and live in that . And so I think that's a good place to segue into our past experiences with the demonic forces , because truly , these religions dabble in them , even with the Satanists , who are all about knowledge and whatever . It's really driven by demons . So , um disclaimer for any kids that are listening we might get into some scary demonic relevant stuff that's really happening in the world .
Speaker 1Yeah , I was gonna say this isn't like campfire ghost stories . This is , this is .
Speaker 2This is real yeah , so , um , yeah , it might be good for you to tune out and then just jump back in after this when we get into the next segment .

Power of Prayer and Healing

Speaker 1Do you want to go first ? No , I'm going to let you go first . I don't have a lot of crazy stuff . Honestly , I don't either , but my few . Here we go . Do you want to go first ? No , I'm going to let you go first . Okay , I don't have a lot of crazy stuff . Um , honestly I don't either , but my few are scary . Yeah , me personally , yeah .
Speaker 2So I've had , I've experienced manifestation before , um , so I've seen . You know , um , we were doing evangelism in Nepal . We were doing evangelism in Nepal , me and a friend of mine . We're walking in the street of Kathmandu and there was just a girl manifesting a demon in the middle of the road . So we try to pray for her and right away , like a small crowd gathers around us and out of nowhere , another white guy comes out of nowhere and starts talking to us and shaming us for bringing Jesus into the situation . And we're trying to talk to him and like , hey , like we're just trying to show love , and he's shouting and arguing at us . And we turn around and like the girl's not really manifesting anymore , but she's also not coherent , so she's not really responding to anything . And then we turn back around and the guy's gone , he just disappears . So we pray back around and the guy's gone , he just disappears . So we pray for the girl and we keep going . So you know , the hardest thing was the language barrier . You know she speaks Nepali , we don't . So all we could do was pray .
Speaker 2The sad thing is is that , yeah , she was demoniac . The sad thing is is that , yeah , she was demoniac , but she was thrown out in the street by probably her parents , with a cup , so that people walking by would just see her contorting and stuff and throw some money in the cup , because a part of the caste system is , if you're a part of the begging caste , the only way for you to elevate into the next system is to be a good beggar . So these parents , they'll have kids and they'll put their kids out on the street to beg for money , um , as a not only as a way to make ends meet , but also to practice their religion . So that's what was going on there , um , so there's that . Another scenario was we had a school going through our , our ywam base . We talked about that and one of the girls that was there shout out to you I won't say your name because I don't know if you want it out there or not , but love you , you're awesome . She was british . We're gonna call her the queen .
Speaker 2The queen , your majesty , your majesty , um , but she had a demon and she was like pretty open about it . She's like , yeah , yeah , I've got power from demons , um , and it was kind of weird . It's like , well , what are you doing at a christian , christian missionary school ? Um , but she was just seeking truth and so eventually it got to the breaking point where her demon manifest and , um , and they were cast out and she was delivered and and she was like , yeah , god is real , I love jesus , and and she devoted herself to seeking the lord , and so it was just a beautiful . Beautiful like this is kind of scary because there's like , you know , not her voice , but it's coming out of her body , kind of deal . Okay , well , let me clarify .
Speaker 2I didn't personally witness it . My very dear brother in Christ , he was a part of the exorcism and so you know I knew it happened because I kind of heard it from a distance . I was at another part of the base . I can't remember what I was doing . I was doing something , I was ministering to somebody , but I can't remember . But he told me about it afterwards and I was like , you know , praise the Lord .
Speaker 1Um , get off track . I just want to . We're talking about prayer and what not . Do you remember at youth camp when Daniel had , did he break his wrist or did he ? He messed it up somehow ? And he was at the youth camp and we all gathered around him and prayed , do you remember this ? Yeah , and we all prayed around him . And while we're praying around him , he takes off his brace that was holding it together , moves his wrist . It pops . We hear it pop , and then he's fine , yep .
Speaker 2It was incredible , yeah , and like , just so , everybody knows he's like training to be a chiropractor , so it's not like he's like completely ignorant to the functions of the body and what is stress and what is not , so like he knew that he had messed his wrist up bad and that's why he had it braced . And he was frustrated because he was like now I can't do what I need to do . And so , you know , we were just trying to be faithful and it was a great opportunity for the students to be like , hey , god's relevant , he's real and he's present and he is a God who heals , so let's pray and let's heal this wrist . And so when we talk about a group like our entire youth group of like 20 kids and then like 10 adults or whatever , circled this guy and just started praying in unison together and , yeah , his wrist was healed in the spot and it's like you know that's a take-home story Like , wow , god showed up and showed these kids like I'm a present God and it was awesome .
Speaker 2I shouldn't say God showed up . He's always there , dude . I hate it . When God worked in that moment , god was showing his glory to specific people who needed that . That's the important part is that when we see healings happening , yeah , it's for the healing , but more importantly , it's God is breaking down barriers in people's hearts , because the most important healing is the gospel , the healing of our heart , and so God is using physical healings to . I firmly believe this . God is using physical healing to heal somebody's heart in that moment so they can hold on to and receive the gospel of Jesus Christ . So that was an awesome experience of the power of prayer .
Speaker 1And another one that comes to mind , and these are coming to mind because I want to say that you're talking about praying over these people casting out demons . It works Like that's my point , it's like I've experienced it , you've experienced it , we've seen it work . Yeah , commuting and asking God to do these things .
Speaker 2Yep .
Speaker 1Another one that comes to mind is we were at a youth camp in Florida . I got real sick , like cause we were out doing a lot of like this a hundred degree weather , running around , playing , playing these games with these kids and all this stuff , and um , I got , I got real sick One of those days . I was real sick . It felt like just terrible . And you came up there and you're like , hey , we go get ice cream . I'm like I can't move , like I'm so sick I can't move . You're like , let me pray for you . Yeah , and you came and you prayed for me and on the spot that sickness for me just disappeared . I remember that and I just remember you praying for me and I just got up . Let's go get ice cream . Yeah , dude , yeah , that was some delicious ice cream .
Speaker 2Well , and it's important , like we were in the middle of I mean , yeah , we're going to get ice cream , but we're in the middle of , I mean summer camp with youth as a leader . It's literally 24 , seven for five days , 24 hours a day for five days ministering to kids Like we're hanging out with them , we're building relationships , we're having fellowship , we're doing quirky fun stuff , but we're always trying to bring it to the gospel and looking for opportunity to shine light into these kids' lives and praying for them and showing them that it's not just like we're here to minister to you , like we're ministering to each other . I get to see that , like Christianity is about a community . It's about people coming together and building one another up so that we can go out and bring more people in and build them up and go out and bring more people in . So , yeah , that was really good .

That would be good , cause you remember we went to , we went and did a fall retreat one time , like for the weekend .
Speaker 1That was pretty fun , but that was local . I remember that .
Speaker 2Yeah , we went , yeah , well , yeah , we went to North Georgia , um , but still , like we were able to talk about prayer and we really I missed that one , literally literally .
Speaker 1I physically wasn't there for that one yeah , that one .
Speaker 2You , that's right , you weren't there , but that one . We dug deep into prayer and a lot of the kids , like , their eyes were open to like , oh , so this is something I can do you know .
Speaker 1So that was . I was talking about the one where it was , um , uh , two host homes for the weekend , oh yeah , the lock . And then we get the lock in one , and then we dispersed or went to the church , did activities and then went back and did things to the host homes .
Speaker 2Yep , that was good too . Yeah , that was the weekend that Daniel got his um , that was when death yeah .
Speaker 2Yep , good time , good times , good times . But uh , yeah . So that's that and the only other experience that I have because I've been thinking about this in the background and in my mind , coming up for this podcast recording and there's one thing that has consistently stuck with me as a reminder that it happened Like I remember that it happened , I guess I should say I was . Now I'm not gonna remember how old it was . We're going to say nine or 10 . I was nine or 10 . He was 37 . Yeah , yeah , I was well , no , I was a little older than that . I was in my tweens , so somewhere between 10 and 13 . Um , but so somewhere between 10
Spiritual Revelations and Prayers
Speaker 2and 13 .
Speaker 2But I could not sleep . One night I had this nightmare about this like haggard lady , witch looking haggard lady , and it was like just a bunch of weird , like the scenarios were all kind of like nothing too ominous , but the woman herself was ominous and that's what made it the nightmares that she was there . And so I wake up and , you know , freak out about it and so much to the point to where I've got to go to a room where there is a light , like I can't have dark , I can't be in the dark . That's how freaked out I was . So I'm walking to my closet where the lights on , because I shared a room with some of my siblings and they were a little younger , so they slept with the light on and I guess I needed to too but um , and in the window , because there's a window there . Yeah , I see her , she's in the window and that freaks me out . And so I like jump into the closet where the light's at and I'm like what is going on ? God , I can't close my eyes because I see her , I can't look out into the dark because I see her , and so I just pray . I'm just praying to God , like God , I don't know what's happening , I need help , I am scared , and so you know , through prayer it goes away and I'm able to move on with my life .
Speaker 2But I just remember that as a turning point , like that's if I had to talk about spiritual manifestation , that was very real for me , because this thing whatever it was spirit of lilith or or whatever you want to say as a demonic female spirit showed up in my dream and scared me awake , and then showed up in reality and scared me to sleep . No , but it really spooked me out . And we're not . My family is solid , my mom and dad very , very faithful to the Lord . Growing up , most of my siblings are still believers today . I'm one of 10 kids , for those who don't know me , and so all of us growing up , we were all involved in church and we were , all you know like , for the most part , being involved in doing things , and so for this to happen was kind of weird , you know , cause it never , never really happened .
Speaker 2Um , like you know , I I'd had nightmares as a kid , growing up , about different stuff , but that was my last truly like terrifying sleeping thing . And then I woke up and it was there in the real world . When I woke up and after that I , you know , prayed to God and I came up with this . God was able to give me peace and , like your dreams , you have control over your dreams , okay , because you're my child and you know the truth . And so , from that point on , I've never really had any nightmares and I don't really remember dreams anymore , like I can't really like , if I had , I'm sure I'm dreaming , but I couldn't tell you when I wake up . Yeah , after that , after that point , like having that revelation with the Lord , and even then , like you know , as I get older and then I get into my rebellious stage where I kind of turn my back on God and I'm living for myself and , like you know that , um , I never , I never denied the existence of God . There was a time in my life where I stopped seeking and serving him , but I always knew that he was real , and I think it's because of scenarios like that , where it's like something happened in my life that was like this is unexplainable , but it happened , um , so that's me in a nutshell . There is one more talking about this . There's one more thing that came to mind . Keep going , brother . Um , the Talking about this , there's one more thing that came to mind Keep going , brother .
Speaker 2The last thing was we were doing a worship night during my missions school and I could feel like there was some ominous characters I would say demons off in the distance and so like almost like they were trying to rush in and distract . And so you know , that happened , Like I kind of was like I don't know if that's real or not , maybe I'm just trying to be showy by standing out here acting like there's demons out there , I don't know . I was still trying to figure out like where do God and I stand at this moment ? Cause it was right at the beginning of my school and well , we'll do my testimony about why I'm another time and how it all occurred . But basically it was like I think , I think there's something out there , I don't know . So I'm just going to stand here and pray . So I did , and nothing really developed , but you felt that presence , felt that presence ,
Encounters With Spiritual Entities
Speaker 2yep .
Speaker 2And then the last thing I didn't feel anything , but there was a girl that showed up to our mission base claiming to serve God . She never explicitly said Jesus or Yahweh or anything like that , she just claimed that she was a servant . Um , and she was like talking to us about that . It was weird . She wanted to talk to specifically me and two other guys . She was brought to our base by another guy that we kind of knew and we had conversations with , but he brought her and he was like hey , this is my friend , she really wanted to meet you , you and you . And we were like , okay , so we sit down and talk with her . And she's like , yeah , I was , I was just , I was in the spirit and I was moving around and I could just tell that you guys , I needed to come and talk to you guys , and like she was talking about it , talking about it , and we were all like what the heck ?
Speaker 2And then it kind of died down and she walked off and talked , or they walked off and did something else . I don't know what they were doing , but my buddy looked at me and he's like well , she just explained was astral projection . She openly professed that she left her body moving around in the spiritual world and she was like that's not a God thing . So now him and I like our radars up , we're like okay , and our third friend , he's over there crying , we're like what's going on ? And he was like dude . She like got in His head , got in my head Like she was talking to us , but she was saying something else in my head and so we were like dude . So we prayed right then and there for him and we were praying and she stayed around for our worship time as a group and like another one of our friends heard her and she was like the this astral projection lady was singing in tongues , my friends sitting next to her and she's like dude , like I've got some .
Speaker 2She's spiritual discerning , she's got real good discernment . She's like that's not a godly thing . What she's saying over there , it's not from the lord , it's something else . Um , so that was really weird , but that's all my experiences that I have that are kind of like what the heck was , what is the enemy doing , you know ? And because they are , the enemy is real , he is moving around and he's got spirit and he's got spirit agent agents and he's got human agents . I mean , he uses them for destruction , and so those are the experiences that I've had . Um , and I've come out on top , yeah , solely because of crest .
Speaker 1Yeah , you should have went first . I mean a second , you should let me go first . No , um , no , go ahead , take it away . Uh , so I have a few , um , all of them really stick with me , yeah . But , I think the problem with mine versus yours is in the moment . I wasn't praying , yeah , so going back again , I've always been a Christian . My problem is is parts of my life . I was a real jerk and not living my life the way I should have been .
Speaker 2Yeah .
Speaker 1So I'm not going to say probably more than likely , this was allowing these things in , yeah , just because the way I was living my life . But well , one of them , this one's probably the creepiest , but we're gonna go chronological order of sorts . Okay , so , um , in high school , um the um , I I still do . I still have trouble sleeping . But I had my alarm set to uh at you , you could set it to come on the radio . Yeah , so every night I'd have my alarm . I'm sorry , every morning my alarm would go off on the radio mode , but just static , really loud , turned up loud , so it jolt me awake .
Speaker 2Okay .
Speaker 1And this is probably kind of the start of things . And this is probably kind of the start of things , but , uh , one morning , uh , the static was on yeah but in the static I could hear screaming and voices .
Speaker 1That's messed up . So you know the static , you know the screaming . And then , when I finally fully came to it was back to static . Yeah , that really freaked me out , wow . So that one was like I don't like that . Yeah , but nothing too killier , you know what I'm saying ? Yeah , but it was almost like the frequencies like crossed over and like switched .
Speaker 2the frequencies like crossed over and like switched , and so what normally would be static came through as like screams yeah , demented screams yeah , yeah , so that , uh , that was really messed up , yeah .
Speaker 1So then this one was um , I'm getting chills , thinking about it .
Speaker 2Um , just remember , dude , yeah , light of Christ , right here in this room .
Speaker 1Right . So this one was um . One morning , um the sleeping , and um , um , something got on my back . I was laying on my stomach . Something got on my back and was whispering my name in my ear Sheesh , yeah , and it was just like Jairus , jairus , and at the again . At the time I thought it was my mom playing a joke on me . No , and when I come to wake up , it was nothing there .
Speaker 1So with that stuff , know like you could say , oh , you were having a dream whatever , yeah so , around the same time , uh decided to um friend of mine was a girl friend , but she was female said come over , hang out at my house and stay the night and then we can go . Uh , we're going to go to the six flags the next day , yeah , yeah . So , of course , my mom , being the good mother that she is , that , no , don't do that , don't do that . You can't do that , being the rebellious Jairus , I did it anyways , so went over there , and I did it anyways , so went over there and again , in my sleep , we were there . I was on the floor , she was in her bed Whatever Shouldn't have been there at all Started getting in the sleep , feeling a presence , something weird was going on , and I told her . I said something weird is going on , something's happening , and I got really uneasy , yeah , really uneasy , and um , we woke up and , uh , and I lifted up my shirt and had marks on my body . Oh , yeah , like cuts .
Speaker 2yeah , well , it was like light scratches on my body , light scratches .
Speaker 1Yeah , wow . So that was , that was scary , and that's where I started thinking I need to start doing something better . Yeah , yeah . So that's when I started getting myself right from that point , yeah , I was like this is , this is not the way I should be living my life . Yeah , I should be living my life , yeah .
Speaker 1And then this next one , uh , I don't know how to fully , truly say the lesson from this story . It's , um , you know , make sure that you are consistently praying for yourself , for your home , your abode , and not letting these things in and for the people that you are also letting into your home , yeah . So , for this last story and this one is also a scary experience , and this one , I was living my life , not fully how I should have been , but better than I was . So I had my girlfriend over at the house one time and we were just standing around talking , um , and then , uh , we were , we were there alone at the time . I was living with my grandmother , yep , my grandmother wasn't there . And then I heard something in the kitchen , yep , and I was like hello , yeah , is it hello ? Yeah , and I heard it kept hearing something moving around . I thought I didn't think my grandmother was there , yeah , and I was like did she come in ? I didn't hear her come in .
Speaker 2Yeah .
Speaker 1So my bedroom door was open . So I went and I peeked around the corner and I saw a figure walking around in the kitchen . Yeah , and I just slowly backed back and slammed the door shut .
Speaker 1I was like what is that ? And I turn around and my girlfriend was crying and I was like what , what is going on ? And she's crying . And I was like what is going on ? And she's crying . And I called my grandmother just to make sure . Like hey , where are you at ? She's like I'm on my way home . And she got there and I waited till she got there , heard the door open . Then I came out to meet in the middle and there was nothing out there at that point . I found out later that my girlfriend at the time was welcoming things into her spiritually demonic stuff into her life , yep , so she was bringing that stuff into my home .
Speaker 2Yeah , so it followed her . It followed her . Yep , that's tough dude , and that's why it's important , as as christians , to always be on guard , because you know , our , our battle is against satan , his agents . Um , and so you know , I've got the verse pulled up right here ephesians 6 , 12 , and this one's pretty popular .
Speaker 2People like to use this when we're talking about spiritual warfare . It it says , for we are not fighting against flesh and blood enemies , but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world , against mighty powers in this dark world and against evil spirits in the heavenly places . So you know , we're putting on our armor , the armor of God , to fight these spiritual battles that sometimes manifest in the physical . So not to say that , like , hey , you need to go looking for , you know , agents of satan and dispatching them , you know that's not what we're saying . What we're saying is , when you are , you've got safe spaces where you you know , like , hey , the presence of God is here and I'm and I'm safe . When you step outside of those , there's opportunity for for the enemy to attack , and so that's why it's so important that when we go out , we're wearing our armor of God , that we are ready for an attack and we can use our discernment and we can turn right back around and fight back effectively and conquer , because we conquer with Christ .
Speaker 2And so you know , getting into that , it's like hey , like , who are you hanging out with ? Do you know them ? Do you know what they're about ? Do you know that they are in God and they're living for Christ ? If so , you know , you might be able to be a little bit more comfortable with them . But if you don't know that , if you want to hang out with them , they need to come to you in your safe areas and those need to be prayed up and you need to be praying into that person's life rather than you going out and getting into their lives . That way we can be on the attack . But if you're a young kid and hopefully you know we didn't scare anybody but if you're a young kid , your friends should not be of the world and it's not to be like a mean , evil , stuck-up Christian . It's that .
Speaker 1It's for the betterment of you . You're learning .
Speaker 2You're still young . You're still young and you're still growing . And for your safety , your spiritual safety , you should only be friends with people whose parents are seeking the Lord and hopefully they are seeking the Lord as well when you're young , because having close friends who are of the world , you don't have control over what they're inviting into their lives and then you could get caught in the crossfire if you're not at using discernment because you're still learning , you're still learning how to use discernment and if you're an adult and you are not using discernment , you should not be friends with anyone who is not a believer . Who is seeking the Lord because you've got some growing up to do in your faith , who is seeking the Lord because you've got some growing up to do in your faith . And let me make this clear as Christians , we should be friendly to everyone , right . But as far as who we rely on , depend on , are close with , live our lives with on a day-to-day basis , it should be devout followers of Christ . That's who we should be vulnerable with , that's who we should be in fellowship with , because they have the same mind and they're of the same kingdom .
Speaker 2If you are close and devoutly and building up a close relationship with someone who is not of the kingdom of God . They're of a different kingdom and they're going to bring that into the relationship . So you got to be ready for it . So that's why it's important to be spiritually mature and have your discernment and have your defense and protection on when you go out into the world . And that's where Paul never went anywhere alone . Paul always had a missionary , companion or companions everywhere he went . I mean , you see , he physically gets beat and attacked and mutilated and stuff , but he wasn't concerned about that stuff . He was concerned about the spiritual warfare and what the enemy was going to try and do to him spiritually . And that's why he always traveled and that's why jesus tells us to go in twos , always go out in a community , because you know this world , it when we say we all say this world's dark right .
Speaker 2Oh , this world's dark turn on the light , yeah , um , you don't realize how dark it is until you're actively bringing the light of christ into all areas of it . And then you're like holy cannoli , like this place is crazy to the point where you're seeking the lord and you're not expecting it . And you step out in your kitchen and someone you welcomed into your home also brought a shadow demon with them and it's walking around in your kitchen . You're like , well , that was unexpected .
Speaker 1Hey , get out of here , in the name of jesus christ you know , it's like it's .
Speaker 2It's crazy when you're the light , when you've got the light of christ in you , when you walk into environments , sometimes you expose things that you're just not ready for . Um , all the time you so . That's why it's important to be prepared . So , yeah , that's , that's the spill . I've got what do you ? You got anything else to add to it ?
Speaker 1No , but I would like to uh just pray for those who are struggling with demonic presences . Yep , let's do it so , dear heavenly father , lord , god , um , I come to you today , lord , um , just uh , lifting up those who are struggling , um , with any kind of demonic presence , any . If they are out there practicing witchcraft , uh , just allow them to welcome you in God . Uh , just allow them to welcome you in God , allow them to see your light , heavenly father , and I pray , lord , that you just um , and if there's anybody burden listening to this podcast , uh , with a demonic presence , I pray that that demonic presence be gone . In the name of Jesus Christ , amen , yeah , yep , amen , in your name , I do pray , amen .
Speaker 2Amen , yeah . So verse to end it on for this topic is 1 Corinthians 10 31 . Esv goes so whether you eat or drink or whatever you do , do all to the glory of God . So wherever you go to work , wherever you go to play , wherever you go to hang out , wherever you go to eat or drink or whatever you need to be having it , you need to have a kingdom mindset and you need to have your focus on it . I want God to get the glory out of tonight , this situation , this environment , whatever it is . If you're about to go into an area where you know you're not going to give glory to the Lord , that's your shining like flashing light , saying like , hey , if you can't give glory to the Lord by doing this , then maybe you shouldn't be doing it . So , yeah , that's it , so that that is the end of our um , spooky season , spooky season . That is all well . We still have the creepy pasta .
Speaker 1I mean , we we have a few other things to talk about , but that's our final 2024 spooky season topic yep , yep and so um . So now we're going to talk about so we talked about , you know , um , these uh , different things than these this month , about you know what you shouldn't be doing . Yeah , you know , essentially , parties like you know , these people partying , going out , having a good time . But how should Christians party Like it's 1999 . That's right , like the world's going to end ? They should party like this . Yeah .
Speaker 2Dance party , dance party , dance party , dance party , dance party dance party Okay . Yeah , dance , dance , dance . Okay , yeah , no , um , dude we . So you were not homeschooled , but you hung out with us all the time we were homeschooled , growing up in the house and and , but not like what people think , the , the stereotype of like , oh , they have no , they're isolated and they're weird and socially awkward and stuff .
Speaker 1Yeah , I remember that was the stigma for homeless people . No , sorry , homeless , I'm sorry , sorry .
Speaker 2Homeschooled children . That's what we thought of them . Homeless folks aka homeschoolers .
Speaker 1No , you're all right , you're pretty normal .
Speaker 2I'm the weird one , well yeah , but anyways , to say that , because there are some homeschoolers that they lack social skills and that's here or there , I think , your parents Looking at public school these days . Now I think a lot of people lack social skills .
Speaker 1Right , I think your parents had enough foresight to put y'all in programs that allowed y'all to be sociable .
Speaker 2Yeah . So all that to say , we knew a lot of people and so every time somebody threw a party here at the house , there was always a lot of people , those rave parties , yeah , so that's what I was gonna get . As we threw rave parties here at the house , we would , we'd clear out the basement area right here that we're sitting in and we'd hook up some lights . You remember this because you'd come over and help us set up the black lights and stuff . We'd set up black lights and a strobe light and we'd get the speakers set up and we'd put together a rave playlist and , dude , we just have like 30 people down here and we would just play the music , play the lights , and people would just dance and shout and jump around . Have a good old time , have a good time . And there was no making out , there was no doing out , there was no doing drugs or alcohol or any of that .
Speaker 1It was just dancing and and having fun as friends and the only drinking being done was a good old cream soda yeah , I think it was just water oh , no , no we had , we had , sodas it was mountain Dew , though you and I .
Speaker 2Our trope was cream soda , but yeah that was we all know that the party back in back in the 28 through 2010 , it was like Dr Pepper and Mountain Dew . Right , the gaming drinks yeah , those were the party drinks , so , but , uh , yeah , dude , those that we had a fun time doing that . I remember one we did a christmas party one year and it was , like you know , tacky christmas , sweater christmas party , but we invited so many people . It was like the amount of people that showed up was like , oh my gosh , why are there so many people here ? Um , I didn't invite you into my home , yeah , but that party we got the cops called on us and it wasn't because we were being rowdy . We were kind of being rowdy , but we weren't disturbing . You don't have any . Both our neighbors are deaf , so it's not like they're here .
Speaker 1Well , your neighbor at the time , to the to the right of you was your grandfather and the one to the left was , um , literally a deaf man .
Speaker 2Yeah , so that couldn't have been why they got called on with the noise no , the reason the cops we got the cops called on us is because there were so many people there that they were parking on both sides of the street and so it was obstructing traffic . We were a side road , it's not like a lot of cars anyways , but it was literally only enough space for one car to drive down .
Speaker 1Yeah , but that's the thing is that even now , but especially back then , that's all that ever happened , maybe one car an hour , so that one car drove by and was like I don't like these kids having fun , yes , and again , it wasn't like there was parental figures .
Speaker 2Oh yeah , there was like 30 parents at the house .
Speaker 1Yeah , so it's not like it was like partying yeah .
Speaker 2The parents were the reason the cops got called , because they were all parking on the street rather than pulling up in the driveway . That was the issue is like a lot of people pulled in and parked in the designated parking spots that we had , but some people were like well , I don't want to get blocked in , so I'll just park on the street . And then the next person followed their lead and the follow their lead and before you know it , there's like 15 cars parked on the on the road and everyone and they're like hey , you guys got to move your cars . They're like guys , there's parking right here .
Speaker 1Just pull it , just get in the driveway , just get on in here .
Speaker 2Yeah , so , but that was a big party too and that was fun . You know we did dancing , we did games , everybody had a good time , and you know we're not really doing any crazy party like that . That's right and that's a fun party . So do you want to talk about that , or do you want me to talk about it ? You give us your perspective , since you just show up and participate .
Speaker 1I really am excited because you said I could do the trivia game this year . I got to start working on that again . But yeah , waffle Fest is a lot of fun . On New Year's Eve we come over . It's always been somewhere different . It's like a your family party tradition . But it's been at the farm , it's been at your brother's house , it's been here several times , it's been everywhere , yeah .
Speaker 2But we just hang out , we eat a lot of waffles , we play board games yeah and when everybody gets really tired we force them to watch regal shenanigans videos yeah , yeah , yeah , but it yeah , dude , it's a lot of fun because I mean , when we talk about we eat a lot of waffles , like there's an unholy amount of toppings that are just across my countertop it's like do you want some ?
Speaker 1uh , do you want some waffle with your whipped cream ?
Speaker 2well , dude , I mean it's like the variety is insane , like people are really stepping their game up . I mean , you know , last year we had fried chicken , we had chorizo , we had uh , queso , just insane things . You're like that doesn't go with the waffle , but then you put it on and you're like this isn't half bad . It's kind of like a party in your mouth . You know what I mean .
Speaker 1Just all the different . I'm trying to find a good All the different flavors . I'm never going to set you up again .
Speaker 2Which one is it ? No , light green .
Speaker 1Soldier . What's up ? I don't know , One of these days we're going to get everything just right for our soundboard .
Speaker 2Yeah , everything just right .
Speaker 1But yeah , seriously just right for our soundboard yeah , everything just right . But , yeah , seriously , um , if you're having parties , yeah , make sure you have it . Like one adult for every five , uh , underage children , yeah , um , I mean , that's the major thing . It's just like don't , don't be , don't allow yourself , don't put yourself in positions that you're going to regret .
Speaker 2Yeah , and as an adult , for adult parties you don't have to have alcohol , you don't have to have lewd music , you don't have to have any of that stuff to have a good party .
Speaker 1You can literally . All you need is pancakes and waffles . All you need is pancakes and waffles .
Speaker 2All you need is pancakes and waffles , no , just what do you and your friends like to do ?
Speaker 1Like seriously , just do that my bachelor party , yeah , for my wedding . What did we do , dude ?
Speaker 2we set up like five Xboxes and five screens and we just we played Halo and Rocket League .

Speaker 1I think that's all we played , like for like six hours we played video games and I said , I said , and that's , that's again . The point is like you don't have to have excessive drinking and and and smoking and and dancing , whatever a party can be , whatever you enjoy doing . A party can be sitting around and watching lord of the rings for 12 hours straight . Yeah , we've done that before too . We've done that before too .
Speaker 2Yeah yeah , partying is . I mean partying is just having fun with your friends . Don't , don't make it into this like it's got to look a certain way and I want to bring that in contrast , because I mean right now what we're going through , with all the trial coming up for P Diddy and all the stuff that's coming to light with that horrendous Right Like it's ridiculous .
Speaker 1It's like None of that should have happened Right . The mentality is it's not a party unless it gets wild and illegal .
Speaker 2Exactly that's not true , exactly , and that's the reality . All these celebrities and elites . It's like , in order for me to have a good time , I've got to do something illegal and get away with it . And it's like no , as Christians , we don't need to look at that as an example and we don't need to glorify that as an example . What we need to realize is that having fun and having a good time with your friends is just doing what you like and and doing it for the glory of the lord . Coming back around to that again , like can god get the glory out of your fellowship ? Like are you going to exalt god because of the good friends that you have and the good time that you had with them , or is god going to get benched in your life because you got to make sure that you got the right amount of alcohol and the right amount of whatever music going on or impressing people ? Yeah , trying to have a social status that stands out to everybody . So , yeah , it doesn't have to be crazy .

Speaker 2Dude , for an example for our youth group when we did we had a party night one time . All we did was played a bunch of different Minecraft games . Well , okay , so that was one party . We did a Minecraft party where we just got together , we had like four or five TVs set up and everyone played Minecraft . But then we had the Nerf night the Nerf night , yeah , and where we just had a bunch of games that were straight out of Halo , like Halo multiplayer game modes yeah . And then we ended it with Capture the Flag .
Speaker 1And this is with real life , nerf guns , right ? By the way , our guest a couple weeks ago , janelle , totally tripped over some boxes that we set up and really hurt herself . Do you remember that ?
Speaker 2Yeah , ripped her ankle , yeah she sprained her ankle back , but she had fun she was happy .
Speaker 1it happened , though she was honored that it happened . I think back on that . Thank goodness it was Janelle and not one of these other kids , because we could have gotten a lot of trouble for one of these kids getting hurt .
Speaker 2Yeah , these whiny whiny tinies . Yeah , All right . Well , yeah , Christians , there's a lot of options out there to have fun parties . You don't have to do crazy illegal stuff or things that don't bring glory to the Lord .

It's not gonna be fun , it's not gonna be . I've been to the club before , I've done that stuff , and it's like dude , like the end of the night . I don't have anything to take home from it . I don't have anything memorable to say about it . It was just a ultimately a waste of time because I didn't build relationships . I didn't , you know , grow with anybody . I just spent money and danced for a little bit it was stupid .

Speaker 2He might have been the first creepypasta um yeah , maybe um , but like this , one has the most physical cost to it , to my knowledge . Yeah , and it's because of the I've got it here the article the Slender man Stabbing is what it was called I was in Fort Neal and Ashley watched a documentary about that .

Speaker 2It is . Do you want to give just a brief ? So first off , uh , tell us who slenderman is it's just this really tall , long-limbed , faceless character , who , who ? Basically the idea is that he just um comes and gets you . Yeah , yeah , he like no .
Speaker 1Well , yeah , if you , if you step into his woods or you summon him from his forest or whatever , he'll come out and he'll get you so , like you again , the idea of creepypastas is these are stories made up online like they're essentially gut campfire stories that people make up to just spook each other or to come up with this creepy story and then it kind of just builds upon , with so many different people adding to the lore on the internet . Yeah so um , I think it started with . Slenderman is like this is an eerie picture of , like a black and white picture of kids playing on the playground and in the background you can see this tall , slender figure , faceless figure , watching the kids playing on the playground . So it's always Slenderman is always kind of hovering in the background , kind of like we talked about here here , brian .

Speaker 1So it's kind of like that . I think that here , brian , we talked about Herobrine , yeah , yeah , so it's kind of like that . I think that Herobrine was probably inspired by Slenderman , because if you play Minecraft , there is another NPC in Minecraft called an Enderman .

Speaker 2Yeah , okay , so All right . For some reason I was like second guessing myself . But yeah , but do you want to just briefly give a summary of the Slenderman stabbing ? Yeah ?
Speaker 1So this is a real thing that happened . These two girls Not too graphic , I mean , I'll just . I mean I'll use the word you used already , okay , so these two girls led a third girl into the woods and stabbed the girl . She did not die and she lived through it . But these two girls led another girl into the woods and stabbed her , and both of them said that Slenderman inspired them or made them do it .
Speaker 1Yeah , so really it was . They were both mentally unstable , yeah , and they believed that if they murdered this girl , they would be doing it to please Slenderman .

Speaker 1Again this internet story fake character . These real-life girls believed it . This would please this fake character .
Speaker 2And that's why it's important to be aware once again , coming back around to spiritual protection , like the enemy will use things to get to you and if they , if they have a way in , they'll use it . So slenderman could be a way that he's getting into people's lives . I mean , there are there are different kind of dark , demonic spiritual entities that fit the bill when it comes to Slenderman . So there's different things that people see in the real world that haunt them and mess with their mind , and it's similar to Slenderman . So be on your guard . The Scoopyp pasta stupid , I don't like it Like it's not entertaining .
Speaker 1It's again we've kind of talked about in the past spooky season episodes . There's some things that are spooky and kind of fun to talk about . Yeah , you know , like here O'Brien's kind of silly yeah , Backrooms is kind of interesting in the sense it's not quite demonic .
Speaker 2No , because we kind of talked about it . It kind of fits the bill for hopelessness . It's the ultimate hopelessness .
Speaker 1Yeah , but with this this is really the like again . There's some spooky stuff that you can watch and enjoy , because it's more thrilling than demonic .
Speaker 2Yeah , slendermanerman , straight up demonic yeah , and that's why I wanted to use him for this week with our topic that we talked about earlier . Yeah , like the enemy will use whatever they can to get to you , so always be on your guard , um , even when it comes to internet legends . Right , so that's it in a nutshell . There's certain things that they're in the same way , specifically about the movies that we've talked about in the past . I don't like movies where there's hopeless yep , and there's hopeless . There's certain creepypastas . It's just hopeless . Your situation is you did nothing to deserve this situation and it's hopeless and you are going to suffer through this instance . There's a Slenderman game . You don't ever really beat it , you just kind of survive as long as you can . Is it kind of like Trogdor ?
Speaker 1The Burned and Eater video game no , you can beat that .

Speaker 1No , you're supposed to like collect these pages in this woods and Slenderman is hunting you down while you do it and you never really win . So it's like it's just I don't like the . Survive as long as you can , yeah , yeah , yeah , that kind of mentality of movies and stories you just have to survive . I think that's the stuff that gets to me . It's like the hopelessness . We're not about hopelessness , we have hope in Christ . But remember , in Trogdor the Burninator , you don't win the game . No , you beat the game , but your character dies .
Speaker 2You still don't beat it , though because the goal is to kill Trogdor and at the end he burns you up Because they make it like . The intro is like oh yeah , you can actually fight him , and then he burns you up and then the credits run . It's like , well , you got farther than anyone else has , so maybe they'll build a statue , you of you .
Speaker 1Again . You beat the game , but your character doesn't beat . Okay , all right . Why is that not a sound bite ? Trogdor yeah , um I'm disappointed , I'm sorry . Sorry , it's okay , I forgive you yay , anyways .
